Why food waste?

How much food could we recycle?

• Approximately 18,000 tonnes available

• 6,000 tonnes currently being recycled (up 1000 tonnes since November 2014)

18,000 tonnes is:

13,500 Ford Focus cars – the car parking at Cribbs Causeway is for 7,000 cars so twice that amount

Why food waste?

• 23% of black bin is food

• 50% recycling target by 2020

• Cost - AD (£38) MBT (£96)

• Every 1,000 tonne  recycled saves £58,000
