2020 Higg FEM Platform Update

OAR Integration

In partnership with the Open Apparel Registry (OAR), Higg Co is integrating facility name and address data via API across the Higg and OAR platforms, streamlining facility data records for the apparel industry. The benefits of having this integration:

● Saves users’ time● Collates disparate facility data into one central location● Mitigates the risk of inaccurate data sharing

OAR Website: https://openapparel.org/

35

2020 Higg FEM Platform Update

What is OAR ID?

The Open Apparel Registry (OAR) is an open source map and database of global apparel facilities,

their affiliations and unique OAR IDs assigned to each facility.

The Higg platform now allows each Higg Facility account to be associated with the corresponding unique facility in the OAR. Use the OAR ID to:

❏ Update and standardize facility names and addresses against the database❏ Understand affiliations of current and prospect facilities to identify opportunities for collaboration❏ Find potential new suppliers, listed with their credentials and affiliations❏ Leverage the OAR ID as a unique and shared ID across software systems and databases

36

2020 Higg FEM Platform Update

What this data integration means for facility users:

● If a facility is in the apparel, footwear, accessories, or textile categories, they can update their Higg profile to integrate with the OAR.

● If a facility is new to the OAR, they can use the Higg platform to create an OAR ID through their account profile and add their facility to the OAR open data platform.

● Easily maintain their OAR and Higg profile records on one platform and trust that the data they share with business partners is current and accurate.

37

2020 Higg FEM Platform Update

What this data integration means for non-facility users:

● Use facility OAR IDs to find Higg assessments.● Contribute the facility list to the OAR if you have.● Encourage the facilities to claim their profiles and add additional data points, including parent company,

worker numbers and percentage of female workers.

38

2020 Higg FEM Platform Update

Once the OAR ID is linked in a facility’s account, the OAR ID can be used/found on Higg.org platform at these places below:

● Facility FEM and FSLM dashboards● FEM and FSLM module pages● Share or Request a Module: account searching● Facility’s account profile ● FEM and FSLM CSV files● Adoption tool (cadence list table, CSV export and account searching) ● Analytics tool (CSV export)● API

2020 Higg FEM Facility Preview

Introduction to Facility Preview

● Facility Preview is a way for manufacturers, brands, retailers, sourcing agents to quickly evaluate the environmental performance of their manufacturing facilities at a foundational level.

● A tool for onboarding new facilities, providing an entry point to the Higg Facility Tools

● Designed to scale to adjacent industries

● Streamlines the collection of sustainability data, and increases data accountability in the industry.

● Available on the Higg Platform

Benefits of Facility Preview

Facilities

● Reduce duplication of assessments

● Increase resource efficiency ● Quickly evaluate & share with

value chain partners foundational environmental performance

Brands, Retailers, Sourcing Agents

● Replace proprietary assessment tool

● Increase resource efficiency● Quick onboarding of Facilities to

supply chain ● Identify opportunities and hotspots

in their extended value chain.

Facility Preview (Use cases)

01 (for companies that has an existing assessment tool) replace proprietary tool to assess manufacturing facilities on their foundational environmental sustainability performance

02 (for companies that are beginning to assess value chain) use this tool without developing a separate tool to assess manufacturing facilities on their foundational environmental sustainability performance

03 (for companies that are beginning to assess extended value chain) use this tool without developing a separate tool to assess manufacturing facilities on their foundational environmental sustainability performance

04 (for companies planning to roll out Higg FEM to other industries, but feel the current version of Higg FEM does not fully apply) use this tool to assess manufacturing facilities on their foundational environmental sustainability performance using the Higg.org platform

❖ Mirror 13 questions (Level 1) as in 2020 Higg FEM.

Facility Preview Specific Content

EMS Primary question: Does your facility have documented procedures that enable workers to report environmental emergencies/violations and protects them from retaliation?

Secondary Question: Does your facility have a robust process in place to ensure data accuracy and integrity?➢ Apply to Energy Q1, Water Q1, Waste Q1, Waste Q2

Waste Q6:“reword question to include additional requirement”: Does your facility forbid all irresponsible waste disposal actions including open burning, open dumping, burying and storage tank leaks?

Key takeaway for Facility Preview

01 It is a new feature that complements Higg FEM

02 It is a quick look at a facility’s foundational environmental performance prior to completing a full assessment

03

What it is:

01It does not provide a comprehensive view of value

chain performance. So it does not replace the Higg FEM assessment

02SAC does not offer verification for individual Facility Preview section submission before posting the full 2020 Higg FEM

03 Does not offer scoring

04 Not accessible for benchmarking feature

What it is not:

04For 2020 Higg FEM cadence, companies must subscribe to the Advanced Adoption Services tier to unlock the feature and have access to the support needed to manage it

Not all facilities will have accessibility to this feature in 2020 Higg FEM cadence.

Implementing Facility Preview in 2020 Higg FEM cadence

Self-Assessment

● Only module in NS and ASI status can be allocated.

Special scenarios:❏ Module in ASC status - contact the

manufacturing facility to unpost module, status change to ASI, feature can be allocated.

❏ Module in VRP, VRC, VRF - feature cannot be allocated.

Verification

● Questions in Facility Preview will be verified in addition to the Higg FEM

Reminder:❏ SAC does not offer verification for

individual Facility Preview section submission before posting the full 2020 Higg FEM

Advanced Service TierFor the 2020 cadence, companies must be subscribed to the Advanced Service Plan, to utilize the Adoption Tool’s Custom Cadence feature and to receive the support needed to manage it.

Opt-inFacility Preview is optional at the Advanced Service level, so companies will also need to opt-in to participate. Higg Co will then enable the Facility Preview cadence feature in the Adoption Tool, which is used to directly invite facilities to participate in Facility Preview.

49

Data BlocksFacilities in Multiple Cadences

Cadence overlap is a possibility.

● Facilities will likely be added to multiple adoption cadences for both FEM2020 and Facility Preview, for different company accounts.

● Facilities may share Facility Preview assessments with multiple customers.

● If a facility has been added to at least one Cadence that is Facility Preview Enabled, then all accounts that receive a share from the facility will see Facility Preview data provided by the facility.
