Page-9
A group of experts (architects, archaeologists, mathematicians, etc.) give us their knowledge of many years of research onornamental art, deciphering the precise language of geometry, working out formulas that reveal the origin of the figures. Insearch for the origins of this language that reached peaks ofperfection in Granada, we achieved a major goal, by gatheringtogether, for the first time, all elements of this art.

It is not difficult to abstract in any of the beautiful gardens, just as it is to find the passage between myrtle and roses, cypress trees and hedges, a cup from which flows
a stream and joyful singing stream of delicious water, a source of life that
strengthens us with just looking at it.

Whether it is under a tree or beside a fountain, hidden in a clump of plants or
behind a column, if there is sufficient capacity, one may well become a part of the landscape, identify with the living nature or stones and feel transported to another time because the sounds are the same as then: the water that flows from
the supplier or runs through the channels, the wind whistling through the leaves and flowers, singing birds hidden ...

To reproduce an oasis in the form of marble columns and embossed arches,
build dozens of fountains to keep the place cool, maintain a lush vegetation and to
perfume the rooms with scents and incense became an obsession to enjoy what they had without completely abandoning
what they had left behind.

A pond surrounded by seductive plants, a flash reflected on the silver surface, barely
perceptible, steps and the sound of an intimate conversation in any corner of a privileged
courtyard are more than enough elements to captivate and love. If we add the sensuality of the clothes and gestures, the musicality of their
accent and the innocence that conveys the absence of fear, the conviction that the
promised paradise was on earth, and to them specifically in Granada, is more than evident.

His figures are mute witnesses of a history of luxury and sensuality, but also of intrigue and
betrayal, of loyalty and forbidden love, the sound of water provided relax to sultans, viziers, nobles, ladies and gentlemen, and
enchanted, after a long time, romantic travellers of the nineteenth century.

Generous in its delivery, fair in his decisions, fierce in war actions and responsive to the
demands of his new people, he fell in love with his kingdom so much that intended to
legitimize his rule with a proclamation in northern Africa that came out to be impossible
to achieve. His legendary figure has a strong comeback after ten centuries of his arrival at the city
and the facts are starting to be known after all these years of ostracism and neglection.

Kind, wise, serene, fair, ... There were many virtues that described the old governor, but he wanted more, such as the advice of those who
enjoyed his view of his own superior knowledge. And so he brought from Malaga, a city he visited often as a master of his fortress, a Jewish expert on languages and laws, and gifted poet to write, who went to work for
him.

Yet when the unfortunate Abd Allah, road to exile, left his palace, at the Casa del Gallo de
Viento, from where he looked every night with nostalgia and deep infatuation at the streets,
squares and houses of the capital of his kingdom, the Almoravids leaders and the Almohad later on continued to inhabit the century-old fort on top of what became the
Albayzín.

His contribution to the history of Granada was none other than to cause, with his death,
the king's reaction to retake the reins of the government and addressing himself to the
greatest threats, external and internal, which hovered over his crown.

Such was the strategic and social importance of Guadix, that both Iberians and the Romans occupied the area and built adequate defenses
erected at key locations to protect it from possible attacks. The Berbers under the
command of Zawi Zirí were not going to be less and rehabilitated the walls of the, at the
time, old castle and made it a brand new fortress with towers and pads that would
make it even less accessible.
