What is genre

• Genre is a style or category of art, music, or literature.

• There are many different genre's in the print industry

• From classic and modern rock, folk, soul, country to reggae, electronic and experimental.

Audience expectations of genre

• We as the consumer buy a magazine and knows what genre to expect we all ready feel like we know the certain style or content of the magazine even down to the art style of the front cover for example an indie music magazine would have considerable different art compared to some thing like mojo.

My chosen genre

• My chosen genre is a mainstream indie music magazine, an example of this would be mojo and NME , I’m going to base my print work on this style of magazine.

• Mojo is a music magazine which covers many different music types for example : classic and modern rock, folk, soul, country to reggae, electronic and experimental.
