Hi Dina, we know you are a star in UAE and you deal with many celebrities. Tell us about your job and your career on TV?I’ve been a television presenter for three years now on a number of shows and I often write, edit and help produce the programs I work on. In addition to getting to experience some incredible activities and having it all documented on camera, my favorite thing about being a presenter is getting to meet and get to know people who have inspired me. And yes, this does often include celebrities – George Clooney, Celine Dion, Tom Cruise, Christina Aguilera, The Jacksons, Gerard Butler, Richard Gere and many more. The person who inspired me the most, however, was actually a 28-year-old man living with a disease that left him trapped in an 11-year-old’s body; he was by far the most grateful, content and optimistic person I have ever met.How did you discover our collection and what do you think about it?I actually became friends with the owner of the brand, Daniele Macellari, through facebook and quickly discovered some of the incredible designs featured in the latest collection. As soon as I realized I was reporting live from the Dubai Film Festival’s red carpet, I knew I had to get my hands on one of the dresses and went to visit the O-Concept store on Jumeirah Beach Road in Dubai.What about the sequin dress you wore during the Dubai Film Festival?It’s so hard to stand out on the red carpet because everyone looks so glamorous, so as soon as I saw the silver sequin dress, I grabbed it! It was so bright and sparkly and with all the cameras and lights, I �gured it would de�nitely get people’s attention and I was right!Did you like other pieces of the collection?Yes, absolutely. Everything was so feminine and �irty. I appreciated that there were so many di�erent styles and colors, despite all being from the same collection, which is rare. I remember one long pink and black lace gown in particular, which was stunning; I’m de�nitely going to get my hands on that next!Can you tell us something more about fashion in UAE?There are over 200 nationalities in Dubai alone, so you can only imagine how many unique styles there are! There are many locally based designers (Essa, Amal Murad, Nadin Zeni ) who have presented some ama-zing collections inspired by traditional attire from the region. With every passing year, the UAE is establi-shing itself as a fashion capital with more and more of the world’s best designers passing through and also leaving their mark on the local fashion scene. I had the opportunity to interview some of these designers like Carolina Herrera, Reem Acra and John Galliano who admitted how impressed they are by how quickly the industry here is developing.
