Take a guided night hike, use your nocturnal senses, discover nighttime creatures, and get introduced to astronomy in this new nighttime program. Special Tacoma Nature Center patch included. Pre-registration is required. Boy Scout Pier PeerFriday, January 17, 2020 • 6:00-9:00pm • Ages 8-11$16 per scout, $8 per adultAn exciting evening of discovery about Puget Sound just for Boy Scouts. From the specialized creatures that live in the saltwater to the boats that travel across it, get a close-up view of life in the sound. While this is not a badge earning workshop, a commemorative patch is included. To register, call the Tacoma Nature Center at (253) 404-3930. Bear Rank: Fur, Feathers, and FernsHands-on activities and games teach about endangered animals of the Pacific Northwest, observing nature closely, and composting. Scouts take a guided hike to explore the wildlife of Snake Lake. Fee: $12 per Scout / Time: 2 hours
Webelos Rank: Into the WoodsGames and hands-on activities teach about the forest ecosystem and the life of trees. A guided hike of Snake Lake gives scouts the chance to observe wildlife and learn to identify common trees and plants of the Pacific Northwest. Fee: $12 per Scout / Time: 2 ½ hours
• Call the Nature Center at (253) 404-3930 to book a Cub Scout program.
• Dates fill quickly so book early. Have several date options available when you call.
• Two week minimum notice is needed to schedule programs.
• Programs are available Tuesday - Saturday during the day and after school, mid-September through May.
• We are unable to offer any scout programs mid-June through mid-September.
• Minimum payment is for 10 Scouts and must be made at time of booking.
• Maximum number of scouts is 15.• Adults are free and must provide
appropriate adult:child ratio.• The programs are designed for Cub
Scouts only. There is an outdoor play area, exhibit area, and hiking trails for other children with adult supervision.
Scout Nature WalksHour-long nature discovery walks are available at seven di�erent parks by reservation: Swan Creek Park - 2810 Pioneer Way E. Wapato Park - 6500 S. Sheridan Ave. Oak Tree Park - S. 74th St. & S. Cedar St. Tacoma Nature Center - 1919 S. Tyler Wapato Hills Park - 6231 S. Wapato St. Titlow Park - 8425 6th Ave. McKinley Park - 645 Upper Park St.

Although the walks have a nature focus, the content will not be thorough or deep enough to meet any complete set of badge requirements for any scouting organization. Indicate your area(s) of highest interest when booking a walk.

Explore Tacoma’s Parks with a naturalist. Discover amazing plants and animals and how they adapt to the seasons.
• $50.00 per park per group of up to 15 scouts and their accompanying leaders
• Additional charge of $4.00 per scout above 15• Groups must follow scout safety protocols and provide the
proper number of chaperones/leaders• Program is only for scouts. Any siblings will be counted as a
scout and charged accordingly.
