Communication with Colleges and UniversitiesEach MCPS High School will provide colleges and universities with an
explanation of how Montgomery County Public Schools calculates GPA
and recognizes graduating seniors for academic achievement through
the School Profile.
Though MCPS does not calculate or report a numerical class rank for
students, each MCPS High School will be prepared to provide a
percentile category in which an individual student’s GPA places him/her,
along with a range of GPAs within that percentile category, for
individual scholarships, military academy applications, and other
institutions that require this information.
