VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK
” The fight for corruption-free ethical society will have to be achieved against
greed for self and replace it with a spirit of 'what can I give'?!”
Vigilance Awareness Week is being celebrated every year and
coincides with the birthday of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, known to be a man of
high integrity. The Central Vigilance Commission, as the apex integrity
institution of the country, endeavours to promote integrity, transparency and
accountability in public life.
On this occasion Mr. K. Naveen Kumar Assistant Prohibition and
Excise Superintendent, Dhoolpet was invited as the chief guest to Johnson
Grammar school, CBSE, Nacharam. The school staff, students and the chief
guest took the integrity pledge administered by school Head Girl. The Chief
Guest motivated the students with his inspirational thoughts on the
importance of Integrity in one’s life. Speaking on the occasion, the principal
urged the students to imbibe the virtues of integrity from parents and
teachers so that they become good citizens in society.
Field Trip to CCMB
As a part of Field Trip for an experiential learning, students of
grade XI & XII of Johnson grammar school visited Centre for Cellular &
Molecular Biology (CCMB), a premier research organization in frontier
areas of modern biology on 29th October 2019. Students interacted with
the scientists and to understand the objectives of the centre towards
high quality basic research and training in frontier areas of modern
biology, and the operations that promote centralized national facilities
of new and modern techniques in the inter disciplinary areas of biology.
A Lecture by the scientist Mr. Jaideep has highly influenced the students
in understanding the phenomena of Fluorescence, Phosphorescence,
Spectroscopy, MRI Scanning, NMR Spectroscopy etc.
Students curiously observed the structure of DNA on ATGC pattern. They also became aware of the human genome project. Many limitless curious queries were posed by the students as their enthusiasm was boundless. The quest for their scientific acumen saw a new dimension.
A FIELD TRIP TO SALAR JUNG MUSEUM
It said that educational field trips are the best way to gain knowledge in a
short span of time. One such educational Integrated Field Trip was organised for
the students of Grade 10 & 9 on the 30th and 31st October 2019.
The descriptive notes in each gallery very highly informative. The students
voyaged the displays in the chronological order. They were awestruck to find the
artefacts of the pre historic ear and gained information on the riches that lay inside
and the socio cultural and economic perspectives of the time and people when they
were crafted.
The field trip was indeed fruitful and gave a great learning experience for
the students.
UNITED NATIONS DAY
United Nations Day is celebrated every year on 24th
October to commemorate the establishment of this
international organisation. This day is acknowledged as a
reminder of what UN represents and it’s has
accomplishments. The sole purpose of this organisation lies in
strengthening unity between countries, improving livelihoods
and empowering lives.
The students of integrity club relayed the significance of
United Nations in upholding virtues of peace and harmony
through a presentation. They engaged in a performance that
educated the audience about the aim and responsibilities.
THE STARS OF TOMORROW
“The preparation for tomorrow brings out the best today”
Swimming is the sport that can be achieved only with
constant practice and hard work. Kashyapi Galavankar of Grade IX
participated in the school games and School Federation Association
Swimming Events on the 18th, 19th, and 20th October at Balyogi
International Stadium.
She participated in 50meters butterfly in the school games
and bagged three silver medals. She won the first place in
200meters individual medley, 100 meters butterfly and back stroke
and bagged the second position in 50meters freestyle.
Once again Kashyapi has made the Johnson family proud by
putting in all her hard work and concentration to achieve her goal.
PRECAUTIONS FOR DIWALI
“This Diwali burst your ego, not crackers”
Light and firecrackers have been considered as the
integral part of this festival One needs to be very careful
while celebrating the festival of light. However, firecrackers
can be dangerous when not handled properly, and
firecrackers can cause serious injuries.
As a part of assembly presentation, students of
Disaster Management Club gave a presentation on
important measures to be taken during Diwali. The
students advised the school assembly to observe the
following precautions while bursting crackers this Diwali.
1. Always buy branded firecrackers.
2. Store crackers in a safe place.
3. Keep a bucket of sand and water nearby.
4. Wear cotton clothes.
5. Burst crackers in an open area.
DIWALI CELEBRATIONS
Diwali is the festival beyond
religion. It is celebrated in the month
of October and November... people
also call it Deepawali.... it is a festival
of lights. It is celebrated in honour of
Lord Rama return to Ayodhya after
fourteen years of exile....
The rangoli on the theme of
eco-friendly Diwali by the students of
all the four houses added the perfect
setting to the festivity. During the
morning assembly The students of
Grade IX enlightened the audience
about the importance of the festival.
They highlighted the victory of good
over evil, light over darkness and
knowledge over ignorance. A
soothing song sung by S.Ananth of
Grade X left the captive audience
awestruck. Followed by the Principal
ensitising the students about the ill-
effects of crackers.
SWIMMING TOWARDS SUCCESS
“The best way to predict the future is to create it”.
Swimming is a sport that requires extreme
hard work and strict discipline. J. Raj Likhith of
grade VIII participated in State Level Swimming
Tournament conducted by SGF.
He bagged a silver medal in 50m freestyle
and Two gold medals in 50mand 100m back stroke.
By putting in the best efforts and thereby
showcasing his talent, Raj Likhith was successful in
paving his way to the National Level Tournament.
All the Best Little champion.
BUDDING TENNIS STAR OF JGS!!!
Miss Amireddy Sreenidhi Reddy of Grade IX made the school proud
with her commendable achievement in Tennis. She participated in the CS –
AITA Tennis Tournament conducted at Lake View Tennis Academy in
under 16 Girls Singles and was Runner Up.
The JGS family appreciates her consistent hard work and arduous efforts.
DEBATE COMPETITION
Sardar Vallabhai Patel – A marvel of unity
Debate is a process that involves formal discussion on a
particular topic. In a debate, opposing arguments are put
forward to argue for a different perspective towards
understanding. . On 30th October, 2019 as an account of
Rashtriya Ekatha Diwas, the Integrity Club of Johnson
Grammar School has conducted an inter-house debate
competition, on the topic “Why Sardar Vallabhai Patel, the
statue of unity is being politicized and criticized?”.
The students have wonderfully shared their ideas
representing their houses- Roses, Shamrocks, Tulips and
Daffodils. The activity helped the students to improve their
knowledge of current affairs debating skills.
ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION
“Unity in diversity gives both strength and beauty”
National Unity day also known as Rashtriya Ekta
Diwas is celebrated every year on 31st of October by the
people all through India. It is celebrated to commemorate
the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who
unified the country. He is an inspiration for every Indian
and to portray this, the students of Johnson Grammar
School have enthusiastically participated in the essay
writing competition conducted by the Integrity Club of our
school, on the topic “Why Sardar Vallabhai Patel, the statue
of unity is being politicized and criticized ?”.

Community outreach and education program are an important component of the school’s mission. The main objectives of community outreach it to develop instructional support program that ensure student learning, engaging in continuous support and connect with the needy.

Old Age Home, Uppal on the 25th of October,2019
The students could create a connect with the
inmates which left them emotionally charged the
feel of which was beyond words.

In 2014, the Government of India introduced
Rashtriya Ekta Diwas or National Unity Day with an aim to
pay tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth
anniversary.
The Run for Unity program takes place in major
towns, districts, and various rural locations. The program
involves the active participation of young from schools,
colleges, universities, educational institutions, National
Cadet Corps, National Service Scheme, etc.
Johnson Grammar School celebrated National Unity
Day on 31st October, 2019.
The Johnsonites of Grade XI and XII marched on the
streets to celebrate the National Unity Day. The main goal in
doing so was to promote national integration among the
people and to preserve the country’s unity and integrity.
The students were excited in inculcating the spirit of
patriotism among the people. The march aimed to revive
and reinforce Sardar Patel’s values of unity, good
governance and grass root development.
