Greene Family Reunion
Registration and Information Packet
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
Romans 8:31 and 8:37
Dear Greene Family,
We are extending an invitation to our family near and far, to join us in Phoenix, Arizona for the 2017 Greene Family
Reunion. Save the Date for September 22 – 24, 2017 and make plans to join us for a weekend of planned festivities and
fun events for the entire family to engage in during the weekend.
As the Family Reunion Committee started planning this year’s reunion, we wanted the focus of the events to revolve
around the meaning of family values, traditions and history as the reason for family gatherings such as this reunion and
take a moment to remember how it all began. Reunions are more than just a celebration; it helps to serve three
purposes: Preservation of the past, inspire the present by building a strong foundation and secure future success for the
next generation. It is important that we inspire and lift our future generations with the love of a united family,
regardless of our differences.
This year, we have added a Family Reunion website to benefit the entire family. It gives you the ability to Register and
pay online, Upload Family Photos, keep up with Reunion News, and so much more. We hope you will take advantage
of its many features and visit the site www.greenedinosaurlegacy.myevent.com.
The Reunion Committee has been working hard to bring together an excellent package at a reasonable price, while
making it an event that is memorable to each generation. We encourage you to reach out with any questions,
suggestions or concerns by speaking to one of the committee members or if you have computer access email us at
greenefamilyreunion2017@gmail.com. Also, if you are aware of any other family members that we have not reached,
please forward their information to us and we will make sure to get in contact with them. We really hope you can
make it and look forward to seeing everyone!
God Bless,
Greene Family Reunion Committee
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. ~Proverbs 3:5 - 3:6

The Registration process is an important part in helping to make the reunion a success and we hope you will take advantage of all the options in being able to register and pay online or by mail. Fundraising
The Greene Family Reunion Committee is starting an account that will be used exclusively for Greene Family Reunion Committee activities and initiatives. A portion of the monies raised will help offset the cost associated with planning future reunions thereby reducing the out-of-pocket costs to our family members to attend.
Another goal of the Committee is to start a scholarship fund for one child every year, in which a portion of the monies raised, will go to establishing the scholarship fund. In order to meet the financial goals of the committee, we plan on having multiple fundraisers to reach our goals throughout the year. We will keep you updated on fundraising events through the reunion website and Facebook. Here are two that are already in the works.

ThingstoDoinPhoenix
Phoenix is a rapidly growing and attractions of all kinds can be found in Phoenix and the surrounding area. In your free time from the planned Reunion Activities, we encourage you to explore and enjoy what the Valley of the Sun has to offer.
We have listed some of our favorite things to do in Phoenix/Tempe below and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask a Committee Member or any of our Planning Coordinators.
Food Spots There are numerous fast food and dine-in restaurants located near the “Host” hotel but the neighboring city Tempe has an abundance of foodie spots, but here are some that top the list in no particular order: The Chuck Box
202 E University Dr. Tempe, AZ 85281 (480) 968-4712 www.thechuckbox.com Parking can be a challenge but this place is worth the effort. They have a limited menu and specialize in Mesquite broiled Burgers and Chicken on the Grill made right in front of you when you order. Their Onion Rings are yummy but their French fries are not to be ignored. There is a Condiment Bar where you dress your own sandwich.
Haji-Baba
1513 E Apache Blvd Tempe, AZ 85281 (480) 894-1905 Middle Eastern, Mediterranean Food Don’t be put off with the location (inside a strip plaza) or lack of ambience. We recommend the Kabobs and Gyro. Dragon Flame Chinese Grill
1125 S Terrace Rd Tempe, AZ 85281 (602) 881-2284 dragonflame.us Chinese Food from the North China Recommendation: Anything that says BBQ Ok, this is a new “place” that opened up but the Yelp Reviews are great. This is not a traditional restaurant; it is a Food Truck that is parked near the ASU campus and in front of a small convenience/grocery store. There are tables in the store to sit at. (yes, we checked they have all the appropriate licensing with the County Health Dept.)

Most of the exhibits are American, but we also have pieces from England, France, Austria, Germany, and Japan. The Hall of Flame sponsors the National Firefighting Hall of Heroes, which honors firefighters who have died in the line of duty or who have been decorated for heroism. Things to Do in Phoenix – Continued
Hiking Arizona has some challenging trails for hiking, but here are two of our favorites not too far from the “Host” hotel.
Papago Park Area Mountain Bike Trail
625 N. Galvin Parkway (602) 495-5458 Papago Park Area Mountain Bike Trail is a 10 mile loop trail located near Tempe, Arizona. The trail is rated as moderate and primarily used for walking and mountain biking. Hayden Butte Preserve Park
Located on the southeast corner of Mill Avenue and Rio Salado Parkway 'A' Mountain at Hayden Butte is a 0.9 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Tempe, Arizona that offers scenic views and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, trail running, and road biking and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Note: Hike to the 'A' on the campus of ASU in Tempe. Short but steep, with a lot of stairs.
Shopping Arizona Mills 5000 S Arizona Mills Cir Tempe, AZ 85282-6402 (480) 491-7300 www.simon.com/mall/arizona-mills/stores Arizona Mills is the state’s largest, indoor, climate controlled outlet.
