School Improvement Plan

Look what we have accomplished!and what we hope to accomplish!

Our S.I.P. for2013-2014

• The SIP is in the Differentiated School Accountability Format as mandated by the State of Florida

Uses goals in:» Reading» Writing» Math» Science» Attendance» Parent Involvement

and aims for improvements over last year’s scores

Changes in how scores were reported

• Students scores are in one of three levels/categories:– Emergent (1-3)– Achieved (4-6)– Commended (7-9)

Most of our students are Emergent

ReadingEnd of Year Results:

15% of Everhart students assessed in reading by the Florida Alternate Assessment (grades 3 – 10) achieved a level 4 or higher. 29% achieved a level 3 or higher.26% made learning gains,

Next Year’s goal:30% of Everhart students assessed in Reading by the Florida Alternate Assessment (grades 3 – 10) will achieve a level 3 or higher.30% will make learning gains

Writing

End of Year Results:• 9% of Everhart students assessed in writing by the Florida

Alternate Assessment (grades 4, 8 & 10) achieved a level 4 or higher.

• 21% achieved a level 3 or higher

Next Year’s goal:• 30% of Everhart students assessed in writing by the Florida

Alternate Assessment (grades 4, 8 & 10) will achieve a level 3 or higher as evidenced by the Florida Alternate Assessment Report results.

MathEnd of Year Objective:• 3% of Everhart students assessed in mathematics by the

Florida Alternate Assessment (grades 3 – 10) achieved a level 4 or higher

• 28% achieved a level 3 or higher• 19% made learning gains

Next year’s goal:• 30% of the students tested on the FAA will achieve a level 3

or higher.• 25% will make learning gains

ScienceEnd of Year Results:• 21% of Everhart students assessed in science by the Florida

Alternate Assessment (grades 5, 8 & 10) achieved a level 4 or higher.

• 54% of the students achieved a level 3 or higher.

Next year’s goal:55% of Everhart students assessed in science by the Florida Alternate Assessment (grades 5, 8 & 10) will achieve a level 3 or higher as evidenced by the Florida Alternate Assessment Report results.

Florida Alternate Assessment:

• Takes into consideration the 3 access point levels– Participatory Level– Supported Level– Independent Level

• Performance Task Approach

• Allows students to work across levels to their fullest potential

• Last year was the first year a school like ours could get School Recognition Money for making significant learning gains and………

Everhart is 88%– Next year: 90% or more

• 46% were absent for 10 days or more– Next year: 45% or less

• 6 students with excessive unexcused tardies– Next year: 5 students or less

Parent Involvement

• 87% of the parents were in attendance at their child’s IEP meeting.

• Next year – 90% or more

• Attendance at school sponsored activities will have parents and students representing at least 20 families or more.

We are a part of Leon County School’s Accreditation Process

Self studies involved in the process help us better determine the direction of our school and ultimately will impact our School Improvement Plan which is a critical component of continuous improvement
