Study of the main problem• In nowadays European societies the consumption level is high as never before. Massive economy gave opportunity to produce more goods and of course to sell them cheaper. The formation of consumer society highly influenced the enormous pollution spreading; the using has become faster as the life got faster as well.• The migration level from rural to urban areas is very high. Approximately half of the world’s population is living in urban areas at the moment. It brings both positive and negative influence on people’s life. Living in cities helps to reduce time and expense in commuting and transportation while improving opportunities for jobs, education, housing, and transportation. It is just easier to live in the city. On the other hand, cities are polluted with dust, smoke, garbage and dioxide gases from factories and cars. There is a lot of noise and rush as well. All these factors negatively influence both physical and mental health of the public.

It brings the question:

Do we want to have an easy fast but stressed or a quality and healthy life?

Analizing the problems we can study the aims of the project:•With this project “RE/Discovery channel” we seek to educate our learners introducing them with a slower sustainable life in eco villages. • „RE/discovery channel“ aims to create and present to the learners outstanding examples of what it means to live in harmony with nature in a sustainable way. •We seek to promote communities which develop and implement technologies and practices such that human activities are harmlessly integrated into the natural world in a way that is supportive of healthy human development and can be successfully continued into the indefinite future.

Objective of the project:“Surprisingly, with this project “RE/Discovery channel” partner organizations from 4 different European countries (Italy, Romania, Turkey and Hungary) are not seeking to make step forward, but to step back. We want to introduce, teach and learn how to get back to slow life style: slow and healthy food, low consumption, sharing the goods and the work in general, learning how to live with fewer items but have the same comfort. The main measure of the project education is visiting eco villages – getting introduced and inspired by sustainable and healthy life style, rediscovering old practices and learn a different modus vivendi.”

Objectives of the project• - To inform the society about life in eco-villages and eco-households trough video

reports articles in a media• - To create website with all the rediscoveries and good practice faced in the project • - To encourage and inspire new and existing eco-village projects with news about

eco-villages• - To organize intercultural discussions about sustainable life style and environment• - To educate the learners through seminars in theory and through eco workshops in

practice• - Bringing different target groups together: practicing intercultural dialogue,

fostering openness and tolerance• - To improve foreign language (English) skills during the intercultural discussion

between learners• - Promotion of voluntary activities and inclusion especially among people with

fewer opportunities and their mobility throughout Europe• - Encourage older people to continue working, to stay healthy longer and to

continue to contribute to society in other ways, and share their knowledge with all participants.

• - Promotion of European cooperation between different kind of organizations with different field of action

Themes of the project:- Environment- Sustainability- Permaculture- Urban gardening- Rediscovering of old traditions- Co-housing and ecovillages

Target group:The project wants to involve as learners elder people (European year of Active Ageing) and people with fewer opportunities to show them other possibilities to be an active citizen, to have a second chance in their life in a sustainable and eco-friendly way.
