Opportunities face Mid-Sized U.S. Cities?
The Healthcare Challenges and Opportunities in
Mid-Sized U.S. Cities Educational Workshop is
designed to create a meaningful and actionable
dialogue around challenges and opportunities of
healthcare in Aurora, which faces many of the same
healthcare issues of many urban and rural areas,
but without receiving the same resources and
attention. Our goal is to facilitate a dialogue that
can address healthcare challenges and stimulate
new thinking and collaboration. By bringing
together healthcare experts, patients, government
officials, and civic leaders to share innovative ideas
and insights on healthcare challenges and
opportunities, we aim to provide tangible,
actionable, and pragmatic outcomes and solutions
to these healthcare challenges that empower
attendees and their organizations to implement
positive changes.

Dear Distinguished Workshop Participants,
Welcome to Center for Healthcare Innovation’s 2016 Healthcare
Challenges and Opportunities in Mid-Sized U.S. Cities
Educational Workshop. I am honored to welcome you to this
important educational event focusing on the crucial topic of
healthcare in Aurora, IL.
The educational workshop is designed to create a meaningful
and actionable dialogue around the challenges and opportunities
of healthcare in Aurora. As a mid-sized U.S. city, Aurora is often
faced with the same healthcare challenges facing many urban
and rural areas but without receiving the same resources and
attention. Our goal is to facilitate an educational dialogue that
can address these healthcare challenges. By bringing together
Aurora’s community of healthcare experts, clinics, patient
groups, government officials, and civic leaders to share
innovative ideas and insights, we aim to provide tangible,
actionable, and pragmatic outcomes and solutions to these
healthcare challenges that empower attendees and their
organizations to implement positive changes. Participants will
discuss how to improve the Aurora healthcare ecosystem by
collaboratively discussing actionable insights, ideas, and best
practices with a particular focus on serving the healthcare needs
of the most underserved vulnerable populations and those living
below the Federal Poverty line.
I would like to express my gratitude to all of our distinguished
speakers, supporters, host, and attendees who will add great
substance to this vital discussion. I wish you a productive and
enjoyable day of dialogue, collaboration, and learning.
Warmest Regards,
Dr. James J. Gillespie, PhD, JD, MPA
President
