Teachers

Hermitage Elementary School strives to have highly qualified teachers to teach all courses. However, there are times when teachers are hired while in the process of obtaining the necessary licensure required to teach specific

classes, or teachers are asked to teach classes that require additional licensure.

When this happens, such teachers are placed on an Alternative Licensure Plan (ALP) with approval from the Arkansas Department of

Education (ADE).

This year, we have one teacher who has been given ADE approval to teach out of their

subject area until they successfully complete the licensure requirements.

This teacher is:

1. Julie Hollis K-12 Library/Media

Additionally, Hermitage Elementary School has three teachers hired on a waiver from the Arkansas Department of Education. These teachers have degrees, are enrolled in a teacher preparation program, and will be taking content area tests in order to obtain licensure.
