HIKERS’ RESPONSIBILITY CODE:Let your experience and ability determine your choice of travel route. Be aware that your safety is directly affected by your judgment in the rugged mountain terrain. Be especially cautious if you do not have a clear vision of the trail in front of you, as concealed hazards are abound. Riders are requested to make their presence known but not all bikers will slow down when approaching or passing. Be prepared to move off the trail at any time a biker is approaching or passing. Never obstruct a trail or road, or stop where you are not clearly visible. Pack out what you bring in, take pictures, not souvenirs. Obey all trail use and closed signs. Hike only on designated trails so not to disturb critical fauna. Violators will lose all mountain privileges. Stay off the mountain if impaired by drugs or alcohol. Emergency phones are available as indicated on the trail map. If someone is injured and unable to proceed, note their location and call 802.464.1100, press 1, x5555 or proceed to an emergency phone immediately. The nearest public phone to the Crosstown area is at Mount Snow Golf Course. If possible, have someone stay with the injured party. Do not move an injured person unless absolutely necessary. Carrying extra warm and waterproof clothing, high-energy food, water, bug repellent, etc. is advised. Please remember
you are a guest in the Green Mountain National Forest.
