A Discussion – Are friends or family more important? By 5/6H You can choose your friends but you can’t choose your relatives. This may be true, but does it mean that friends are more important just because you choose who they are? Friends are people that are fun and we want to spend our time with. It gives us a break from our family. Also friends are those people that we want to talk to. We can trust them and talk privately if we need to. However, families are very important. Your family will care for you and always be there when you need them. If you are in trouble or sick it is good to know that your family will always be there for you and offer to help when you may need it. Also, families are very important to us as an individual. Families share the same culture and beliefs. This allows them to have a special bond with each other. This shapes my individual personality and who I am. Even though friends are important and we enjoy spending time with them. I think family is more important. Most importantly families share the same blood and will always care for each other and be there when we need them.

SCHOOL FUN RUN We will be holding an adidas School Fun-Run as a major fundraising event this year. The event will be held on Wednesday, 9th May 2012 at Chauvel Oval and within the school grounds. . The adidas School Fun-Run is a healthy, fun and active fundraiser that ensures we send the right message to our students about getting active, having fun and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The main focus of this event is on participation. Family support is most appreciated as we encourage all students to get involved. All students have received a Sponsorship Form to help collect sponsorship on behalf of the school. The funds raised will be used to purchase extra resources for the School.
We ask all parents to read the Sponsorship Form and sign the front page to grant permission for their child to fundraise and participate in this event. Students who raise just $10 or more will receive a reward for effort. In the Sponsorship Form you will also find many other benefits like the chance to win a family holiday in Disneyland! Students wanting to train for our event and to receive advice from sporting heroes like Scott Prince, Dale Thomas, Sally Pearson and other elite adidas athletes can do so by logging onto schoolfunrun.com.au/students and clicking create a profile. Students who register will be in the running to WIN a Nintendo Wii and bonus Wii Fit Plus!
Finally, we would like to welcome parents and family members to attend the Adidas School Fun-Run event day at the school or at Chauvel Oval on Wednesday, 9th May 2012 to help cheer on the students If you would like to volunteer and help out on the day please contact the school on 6765 7446.
