TRANSCRIPT

Histogram

Histogram

▪ A Histogram is a bar graph that shows the frequency of data within equal intervals.

▪ It was first introduced by Karl Pearson.• Histograms gives a graphical representation showing a

visual impression of the distribution of Data.• Each bar represents an interval that contains data.• The height of the bar indicates the frequency of the

data.

Why we use Histogram

▪ When there is a lot of data

▪ When data is ▪ Continuous ▪ a mass, height, volume, time etc

▪ Presented in a Grouped Frequency Distribution▪ usually in groups or classes that are UNEQUAL

Unequal Heights determined by Frequencies.

Advantages

Why we should use Histograms? The power of Histograms is that they allow as to analyze extremely large datasets by reducing the to a single graph that can show primary, secondary and tertiary peaks in data as well as give a visual representation of statistical significance of those peaks.

Cautions

While drawing, we should look out for some things-Sensible ScalesBases correctly aligned
