Well what a Semester it has been with lots going on especially my first of hopefully many cluster
swimming carnivals for me it was good to see how all the kids from the different schools mixed
with each other. I really liked how all the Homestead children gave 100% in every event that
they took part in, wonderful school spirit.
To say that Term 4 has been a breeze I would have to tell a few little fibs, Term 4 has had some
challenging moments and I am grateful for such a wonderful staffing team helping me along.
Saying that, there has been some extremely wonderful moments which have made me thank my
lucky stars that I have been fortunate enough to have had the chance to come to Homestead.
I have really enjoyed continuing to get to know all the students and it is wonderful how the
whole community has made me as welcome as possible. This has made my settling in a whole lot
easier so thanks to all the community members, school staff and especially the Homestead School
State School students. I look forward to continue to build and get to know everyone a lot better
in 2021.
I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and all a happy start to the New Year.
Safe travels for anyone that is going away on holidays. In addition, anyone
who needs any tips on baking cakes just let me know and I can assist you.
Thanks
Tom ‘MasterChef’ Nicholson
As we come to the final week of 2020, I would like to take the time to express my gratitude and appreciation for the
varied achievements, celebrations and highlights that we have experienced at Homestead this year.
It has been amazing to teach up here in our new learning space.
We welcomed Chappy Robert. We said farewell to Mr S and welcomed Mr Nicholson
We also had our new friend COVID to add to the mix, I thank you all for your support as we navigated through the
government directives to ensure the least disruption to our students.
Over the year, a great deal of work has gone into our priority school review, I thank everyone for your patience,
commitment and dedication to Homestead all of which contributed to successful outcomes and a clear line of sight
for our future.
Of course it wouldn’t have all been smooth sailing if it wasn’t for Jeanette, who continuously works tirelessly to
make sure we are on track. I would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank Trina and Emma it
has been very exciting to watch their professional capabilities grow this year, as they continue to ensure the suc-
cess of all our students.
I would also like to thank Don for keeping our grounds beautifully presented, and Jamie for keeping our school
clean including the additional requirements of COVID.
I would also like to acknowledge the external people that also contribute to our student’s success
Miss Tess – swimming
Mr Single – Tennis
Mrs Muller – Athletics (please come up and accept our certificate of appreciation
Thank you to the Homestead community that joined us to celebrate the success of our students.
I wish you all a Safe Holiday and look forward to seeing you all in 2021.

the Dalrymple

Well done Tyler!
This term a dance teacher
came out to get some
groove happening. The
students moan and
groan every year about
dance, but they have so
much fun while they are
learning their moves.
Day for Daniel Fun Run.

fun run for Daniel

The eleventh hour of the
eleventh day of the
eleventh month we pause
to remember those men
and women who have
died or suffered in all
wars, conflict and peace
operations. This year at
our ceremony the
students played, Lest We
Forget on Ukuleles.
Chappies Corner
When I arrived in February I was not sure what to expect. The students have fantastic smiles and given some real funny answers to some things. I’m not from the country and not from the big cities yet fun Wednesday’s was a learning curve for me. School camp, swimming, athletics were fun days to see the students in larger groups of students. It seemed easy for them to interact and have fun. Thank you for welcoming me into the school community.
Merry Christmas!
Robert Bauman.

School Watch Keep a watch on our school these holidays
With the holidays fast approaching, we need you to look out for after-hours crime in our school. If you see anything suspicious, please call School Watch on 13 17 88.
The School Watch program is a partnership between the Department of
Education, Training and Employment, the Queensland Police Service and the State Government Protective Security Service. It aims to reduce vandalism, theft and ar-
son in Queensland schools.
If you do see something suspicious, please don’t attempt to intervene. Call the School Watch number and let the local police or State Government Protective
Security Service deal with the matter. Keep the number handy —
13 17 88 — and let’s work together to help create a safer school
community.
