Should I Choose?

qlanguage.com.hk

This is a question many face having decided to take up or

further their study of a particular language in

Hong Kong.

The reason is simple: there

are so many language centres in Hong Kong to choose from!

Whether you want to study

English, Chinese or any other language in Hong Kong,

here are FIVE simple tips to help you decide which is the right Hong Kong language

centre for you.

Tip 1

Choose a centre that will help with your Hong Kong

Study Visa

Tip 1

Choose a centre that will help with your

Hong Kong Study Visa application.

If you are traveling to Hong

Kong from overseas, check to see whether you need a visa

to study in Hong Kong.

If you do, make sure the centre you choose offers a full

service for obtaining your Hong Kong Student Visa.

Doing it on your own, particularly from your home

country, can be quite a challenge!

Choosing a language centre that helps you obtain your Hong Kong Student Visa

will make your life so much easier.

Tip 2

Choose a centre that will find you affordable, clean and safe

accommodation.

Tip 2

Choose a centre that will find you affordable, clean and safe

accommodation.

Again, if you are coming to Hong Kong from overseas it is

possible that you will need accommodation for the duration of your stay in

Hong Kong.

Choose a company that will find you affordable, clean and safe accommodation within in easy reach of your language

centre.

Your language studies are important and you do not want

them spoiled by living in an unpleasant or stressful

environment.

Tip 3

Ensure the teachers at your Hong Kong Language centre are

experienced native-speakers with recognized teaching

qualifications.

Tip 4

Try to find a centre that has a good mix of both local AND

multi-national students.

Your progress is likely to be much faster and your overall

experience much better if your centre attracts students from

different countries worldwide.

Learning English, for example, in a class where

everybody speaks Cantonese can be frustrating if you really

want to practice speaking English as much as possible.

In this environment, naturally, students often rely on their

native language to communicate amongst

themselves as it is much easier.

Studying English in a class made up of lots of different nationalities encourages everyone to speak and practice English more

frequently and as a result your progress will be faster.

Tip 5

Choose a Hong Kong Language School that offers a pleasant environment, good

facilities and a great location.

Tip 5

Choose a Hong Kong language centre that offers a

pleasant environment, good facilities and a great location.

Your centre should be well lit, offer spacious, clean classrooms and small

class sizes.

It is bad for your learning experience to be crammed into small, dark, rarely cleaned

classrooms filled with high numbers of students.

Also, make sure your centre is within easy reach of good public transport and

pleasant eating establishments….

….this will avoid difficulties getting to and from your language centre every day and ensure your breaks for lunch or morning

coffee are more enjoyable.
