Oh God, father of believers, you multiply on Earth the sons of the promise, with gratefulness for the adoption and for the Paschal mystery, you did

your servant Abraham the father of all Nations, as you had promised. Today we are here before you to entrust the work of the Hospitaller Committee

of Africa (CHAF). You raised in the Church, the charism of hospitality, we give you thanks for the seed planted in Africa, so that today as yesterday

and forever, we commit ourselves like Abraham, out of our self interests, out of our securities, out of our personal projects to enter into the great

Congregational Community project in Africa, where everyone wants to be the actors and the steward in its construction. Grant that we may hear

Your voice and follow the example of our Father in faith. We ask you today for the community and Mission of Macia (Mozambique ) and at the

same time we ask the intercession of Mary, Our Lady of the Sacred heart of Jesus, Saint Agustine, Saint Benedict Menni, and of the sisters who

have gone before us. Amen.

MOZAMBIQUE - Saint Benito

Menni- Community – Macia

HISTORY: On April 11 2012, three sisters of the province of Portugal left the Center of Matola (where they per-formed the Mission of Hospitality) and reach Macia (another region of Mozam-bique - cf. CHAF n ° 1-) in order to perform the opening (Foundation) of a new presence.

« Ole Saint Benedict Menni Center », opens its doors on 11 March, 2013. It is located near the Health Center of Macia, on the premises of the "Pfuka u famba" (= get up and walk)

The Day Center has three rooms for different activities, a kitchen/dining room and 2 W.C. as well as a space for the garden.

Hospitalher Presence

The Sisters provide their services, in addition to the Day Center, participating in the consultations in the hospital, psychiatric service; performing home visits and being committed to the Pastoral Health Care service, they cater to people with great poverty and fragility, which roam the streets.

Make intermediary with the organizing

Health and Social action.

They move to other locality outside the

city of MACIA offering formation to the

staff.

They participate in the life of the parish

in the Ecclesial base communities; in

the Group of youth and vocations Min-

istry; in the Health Ministry.

The Hospitaller Family

Sisters, since their arrival from

Macia, begin to trace a path with

some motivated people and desiring

to collaborate, from their Christian

vocation, putting at the service of the

sick and needy people, thus arises the

group called "the hospitaller family".

The fact of gradually integrating these

young Lay Hospitaller, leads to see

the future with hope because in our

combat we can count on various

hands and hearts open and available

to deal with situations of

marginalization and fight together for

a better world in the social

commitment of defense of rights,

dignity and justice of the human

person. In this hospitable pilgrimage,

we are encouraged by the words of

Pope Francis: «don't miss the

momentum going on the roads of the

world. «Awareness walk, with

uncertain steps if, but it is always

better to remain parked in their

questioning and interrogations ".

Prospects for the future? get to per-

ceive that it is worthwhile to continue

to work in this city. Without losing

sight of the challenges that, this entails.
