First Home GrantFirst Home Grants are available to eligible first home buyers or previous home owners who’ve made regular KiwiSaver contributions. The number of First Home Grants paid shows how many households are able to take advantage of this support to buy their first home (formerly the KiwiSaver Homes Start Grant).
Data Source: Kāinga Ora
First Home LoanWith a First Home Loan you only need a 5 percent deposit. First Home Loans are issued by selected banks and other lenders and underwritten by Kāinga Ora. The number of First Home Loans settled shows how many households are able to take advantage of this support to buy their first home (formerly the Welcome Home Loan).
Data Source: Kāinga Ora

Sustaining TenanciesSustaining Tenancies provides funding for community-based providers to support households who need help to sustain their tenancy. This helps to prevent and reduce people becoming homeless.
Source: Ministry of Housing and Urban Development
Housing FirstAccess to housing is only the first step in addressing homelessness. Housing First recognises it is much easier for people to address complex issues such as mental health and addiction once they are housed. This number reflects those people who have been accepted to the programme and continue to need the intensive support provided through Housing First.
