#1: Start a Friendly Competition Everyone loves to win, and offering your patrons a chance to grab tickets to a show for free can help spread the word — at very little cost to your venue. Next time your sales are dwindling, set aside a pair of tickets or a chance to head backstage to meet the artists. Set up a friendly competition asking patrons to use a specific hashtag alongside a photo of themselves, and award the prize to the photo with the most likes.

#2: Encourage Fans to Spread the Word About Discounts Offer a future discount for ticket buyers who share that they’re attending your event on social media. It’s a double win for you: your venue gets some extra promotion, and you’ll sell more tickets for your next event.

#3: Reward Your Best Ambassadors with Merchandise Does your venue or event have t-shirts, cups, or other merchandise for sale? Find your best brand ambassadors on social media (the Instagrammer who’s always attending your events or the Twitter fan who uses your hashtag the most) and send them free merchandise. Odds are they’ll share what you sent them on social media, giving you that extra boost and making them feel special.
