Objectives of the Project• To take surveillance and monitoring of pest- disease incidence• To suggest appropriate pest management measures in paddy• To avoid yield losses due to epidemics attack of pests & diseases• To develop Fore warning system & management of pest-disease• To suggest plant protection strategy for affected area• To create mass awareness through popular mass media

Pest Monitoring Unit (PMU)

•One Pest Monitor

•One Data Entry Operator

•8-10 Scouts

Infrastructure for PMU

•One laptop with high speed internet connection•Cyber shot digital camera•GPS•Pheromone traps and lures of YSB•Monitoring Kit for PM, PS and Master trainer•Proforma for recording observations for PM and PS

Pest Scout

One PS – 2 villages per day : two fixed and two random fields for each village8 Villages per weekTo record observations on Monday and Tuesday and Thursday and FridayTo hand over the data sheets to the PM
