Weatherproofing a building for energy efficiency

Community centre facelift to make it a more viable resource to its residents

Existing community garden facelift, root cellar in the building for vegetables, build a greenhouse

Safety and energy landscaping and lighting

Full day cooking class with a local chef & home economist

• Community housing staff (HPs, SMs)• Community volunteers• HSC staff• Board members of HSC and its subsidiaries• Residents• Politicians/ council• Professional volunteers (master gardener,

chef, contractor, landscape architect, electrician)

• Local business people (catering, professionals)• Other sponsors (to be present)

Day ScheduleDay Schedule

• 8:00 – volunteers arrive for breakfast buffet, meet and greet

• 8:30 – local professional lead will instruct the team on how the day will go, assign jobs to team members

• 9:00 start• Lunch 12:30 to 1:30• Finish project at 5:30 – clean up• Ribbon cutting at 6:00 to kick off celebration!

BBQ on site with live music from local musicians.
