Luxor was the capital of Egypt around1500 - 1000 BC and has over the yearsseen an astonishing number of palaces andtemples built. Because the structures werebuilt of granite and sandstone they stillremain to this day. Among the ‘must-sees’are: the Luxor Temple (which dates to theAmenhotep III and Ramses II periods), thecomplex of temples known as the KarnackTemples, the Luxor Museum, theMummification Museum, (which is first ofits kind in the world), the FuneraryTemples, and the two valleys of the Kingsand Queens.
MARSA ALAM #MARSA ALAM#
Marsa Alam still has the air of an unspoiltvillage, which makes it an ideal base for
those looking for a quieter break. It iswithin a three to four hour drive of bothLuxor and Hurghada. Tourism has foundMarsa Alam basicly because of its locationon the banks of the Red Sea. There areboat trips to watch multi-coloured fish, dolphins, turtles and the coral reefs that liejust offshore. The popularity has grown somuch in the past years that there now isan airport and an increasing number ofluxury resort style accommodations.
