JOB 17:1My spirit is broken, my days are cut short, the grave awaits me.

JOB 17:11My days have passed, my plans are shattered.

JOB 17:15-16Where is my hope – who can see any hope for me? Will it go down to the gates of death? Will we descend together into the dust?

Job searches for God

Job asks the right question:

God, where are you?

JOB 23:3-9If only I knew where to find him; if only I could go to his dwelling! I would state my case before him and fill my mouth with arguments. I would find out what he would answer me, and consider what he would say to me. ...

JOB 23:3-9… But if I go to the east, he is not there; if I go to the west, I do not find him. When he is at work in the north, I do not see him; when he turns to the south, I catch no glimpse of him!

Job complains about his suffering to God

PSALM 44:18 & 23-24Our hearts had not turned back; our feet had not strayed from your path. Awake, Lord! Why do you sleep? Rouse yourself! Do not reject us forever. Why do you hide your face and forget our misery and oppression?

Job 13:23How many wrongs and sins have I committed? Show me my offense and my sin.

Psalms = In Hebrew “tehillim” = Songs of praise!

God is a loving father

God is God

Job 38:1-3Then the LORD spoke to Job out of the storm. He said:

“Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge? Prepare to defend yourself; I will question you, and you shall answer me.”

Job 42:1-6Then Job replied to the LORD: “I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted. (…) Surely I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know. (…)

Job 42:1-6My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you. Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes.”

ACTS 17:27-28God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. For in him we live and move and have our being.

1 PETER 2:21-24To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.“He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.” …

1 PETER 2:21-24… When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. …

1 PETER 2:21-24… “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed”.
