John and Rosalie B)ankenship werehonored with a reception for their50th wedding anniversary at GraceLutheran Church in Lewiston onSaturday, Oct. 5. Hosts for the cele-bration were their children Larryand Mary Blankenship and Bettyand Larry Chapman.

John Blankenship and RosalieKruger were married Nov.,l, 1941 atLewiston. He grew up at Leland, shegrew up at Cameron.

They farmed in'he Cameron-Southwick area'ntil their retire-ment. In 1984 they moved to Lewis-ton Orchards. They sold their ranchbuildings but still own their lhnd,and are still members of CameronEmmanuel Lutheran Church. Theyenjoy traveling and fishing. Theys'quare danced for many 'years. Johnenjoys making wood in his pasture.Bosalie likes to write.

Sharing, the reception with theBlankenships were their grandson,Electronics Technicians S. S. RobertGallaway, Jr., of Groton SubmarineBase, Groton, Conn., and his brideDebra Butko, who repeated marriagevows earlier in the day at GraceLutheran Church. Pastor John Blomofficiated.

Debbie was escorted up the aisleby John Blankenship. He gown ofwhite satin featured long lace sleeveswith short satin,'puffed over-sleeves,and a fitted lade bodice with tinysatin buttons down the back. Thebodice and the hemline of her long,full train were adorned with anabundance of seed pearls and se-quins.

Her veil fell from a headpiece oflace and pearls. She cairied a bou-quet of pink and white roses.

Theb attendants were their par-ents, Shirley Butko, Betty and LarryChapman, and Robert Gallaway, Sr.Bonnie Lawrence beautifully. sang"The Wedding Song" and "TheBose."

In the Genesee game Jarrod Sil-flow's 44 yard run put the Tigers onthe scoreboard in the first quarter.Cade Konen ran over the conver-sion and that was the scoring for therest of the quarter.

Bulldog quarterback Chad Emer-son brought the Genesee crowd toits feet early in the second quarterwith a '56 yard touchdown run. TheBulldogs tried to run over the extrapoints but failed and the score was8-6, the closest the Bulldogs wereever going to get that night,

Cade Konen took the kickoff ballon the 15 and returned it 85 yardsfor a Tiger score and Jason Wittran over the conversion. The Tigerskept the pressure on and Silflowscored again on a 3 yard run. A passtry for the extra points failed andKHS took a 22-6 lead into halftime.

Kendrick exploded for 28 pointsin the third quarter. Konen scoredon a 19 yard run and Blewett pass-to Shawn Tanata for the two-pointconversion. Blewett, who ended thegame with 6 of 10 pass completionsfor 150 yards, passed to Konen ina play covering 66 yards for the nextTiger TD. Josh Hudson ran over theextra points. Silflow put the nextTiger tally on the board with his 54yard run.,

In the final quarter Jarrod ranfor a 66 yard touchdown and thenwhen John Wegner hauled in CraigTeft's 32 yard pass, the Tigers wereahead by more than 45 point, andthat ended the game.

As a culminating activity for Fireprevention Week, Jeff Lohman, theJuliaetta Fire Chief, brought thetown's fire truck to Juliaetta Ele-mentary School on Friday, Oct. 11.

Students in grades Kindergartenthrough six were invited to get onthe truck, ring the bell and hold thehoses, Third grade students tookturns hosing down the alley usingone of the hoses on the truck.
