2005, April 11th – public presentation of Euroguide LIS at a seminar ”The value of professionals of Information-Documentation"

Many under-graduate , graduate and masters degree designed specifically towards the Euroguide LIS profiles (2004…present)

Development of three LIS educational and vocational training frameworks for the Portuguese Institute of Vocational Training (by INCITE 2004)

Design of the vocational training framework (RVCC) for the National Qualification Catalogue of the National Agency for Qualification (by INCITE 2007)

Incite will steer of a Portuguese Euroguide LIS Group ◦ Higher Education LIS schools◦ Recent graduates & seasoned practitioners◦ Associations◦ Employers

Incite will then be the conduit of the findings and proposals of this group to the Euroguide LIS Group headed by ADBS

The supply and demand of LIS skills and competences will always be fluid

Interaction between ◦ the innovation performance of the market

and academic degrees vocational training training courses by professional

associations will always take time to reach each new

equilibrium

IT is a given. No future Information job in the future will exist

Promotion of circulation of LIS works by young professionals

Research and study of “Best Practices” Promote the cooperation and dialogue

between the LIS’s Higher Education and the Information Management, I.T. and Information Society actors

Hasten the integration of recent graduates and new professionals in the professional associations.
