What is Indoor Percussion?

● An indoor percussion ensemble based in the marching arts○ 4 - 6 minutes production

● November 2019 - March 29, 2020● Atlantic Indoor Association (AIA)

competitive circuit○ Competitive season takes place in

February and March○ Championships: March 28-29,

Hampton Roads, VA (overnight)

Our Mission

● Provide high quality music and visual instruction to our members● Continue developing marching percussion skills through the winter months● Teach fundamental skills to new percussionists while challenging more

advanced players○ There’s a place for every ability level here!

Rehearsal Schedule

● Rehearsals will take place at Broad Run HS.○ Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:00 - 8:30 PM*○ Saturdays 1:30 PM - 6:00 PM*

■ December 7 (SAT) & January 25 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

● Auditions (Clinic Style)○ November 12 & November 14, 2019○ First full rehearsal: November 16, 2019

● Drumathon Fundraiser○ January 18, 2020 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM

Tentative Performance Schedule

February 8, 2020 - Patriot High School

February 22, 2020 - Woodgrove High School

March 21, 2020 - South County High School(Park View Fine Arts Spring Trip)

March 28-29, 2020 - AIA Championships at the Hampton Roads Coliseum(Broad Run Fine Arts Spring Trip)

Competitions are a full-day commitment for every ensemble member.

Instrumentation

○ Snares, basses, tenors, cymbals

○ Marimba, vibraphone, synthesizer (piano), auxiliary percussion, glockenspiel, bass guitar, drumset

○ One visual performer

Membership Dues

Final due amounts will be determined after the interest meeting.

Each school’s director will set the student dues at their school based on the amount their boosters can offset.

Volunteering

We need parent volunteers to make this program happen! Opportunities include…

● Competition transportation● Chaperoning● Pit Crew

○ Hauling equipment○ Building props

● Serving meals on long rehearsal days● Other duties as assigned :)
