Going worldwideImpact and Aims

Teacher training still tends to be rather locally or nationally oriented andgoing worldwide means another big step for both universities towards a global understanding of the profession. This project supports thedevelopment of international teacher competences such as cultural empathyand open mindedness in a worldwide context (Erasmus Impact Study, 2014: transversal skills). Competences highly needed in a more and more diverse society due to immigration and demographic changes (YerevanCommuniqué EHEA, May 2015).

Thai/Austrian Studies project (2015-2017):

• student and teacher mobility (10 mobilities)

• subject areas: primary/secondary education, vocational education (tourism, nutrition science)

• practical experiences in schools in both countries

• Thai students attend the „International Teacher Competences Course“ in Graz

• research project: „Die Effekte von Erasmus+ Studierendenmobilität: Ergebnisse aus qualitativer und quantitativer Perspektive“ – Learning OpportunitiesProvided by Erasmus as Mobility Programme in Teacher Education.

• reliable partner on both sides - mutual understanding and trust

• application procedure – involve all partners

• spend a lot of time for „common understanding“ – information sheet

• commitment at the own institution – managment and team

• time

• finance regulations: Erasmus+ regulations versus national regulations
