What is a tweet?• 140 characters of text that’s sent from a Twitter

account:

• This content is public

What is a retweet?• Another person’s tweet, resent by a new person,

with attribution• To retweet someone, click the retweet button or

type RT @twittername• This content is public

What is a mention? • A tweet including another Twitter handle

• Most twitter users pay special attention to mentions

• If you start a tweet with @ and a user’s name, only people who follow both you and that person will see the tweet on their streams
