TRANSCRIPT

An Introduction to HardwareUsing littleBits and your imagination.

Hardware is how we describe electronics that connect together

and make something new.

Think of the things you use.

They’re all made of other smaller pieces.Usually, many smaller pieces.

Pieces like these.

These pieces work together to make something new.

Can you think of something that is made of smaller pieces?

How do these pieces work together?

Power enables things to work.

Input is a signal to do something.

Output is what happens.

Connection allows pieces to talk.

Logic is how things should happen.

Guess what? You’re going to build something!

You’re going to use littleBits.

They’re like electronic Legos.

There are all different kinds.

OUTPUT

LOGIC SENSORS

Power bits are blue.

Input bits are pink.

Wire bits are orange.

Output bits are green.

Ready to build something simple?

Let’s explore littleBits.

GOOD JOB!

What do you think?

Any ideas of what you could build?

Ready to build something more complex?

It’s time to get creative!

How?

LITTLEBITS OTHER MATERIALS+

Your options include:

Pick something to build

Invent something new

Both

A

B

C

Pick a starting point1

SWING + ACTION SPIN + BRANCH

2

Invent something

BRAINSTORM BUILD

Sketch out your idea. Using littleBits and materials.

Or, do both. We’ll be here to help.

Let’s build!

Time to wrap up.

Demo time!Who wants to share?

What did you learn?

Hardware is fun!

• Hardware is made of smaller pieces. • There are different types of pieces. • Smaller pieces talk to each other. • We explored littleBits. • You made something unique!
