What is ?

• An operating system used for mobile devices manufactured by Apple Inc.• The term "iOS" was originally know as "iPhone OS“.• It was introduced in 2007 along with the first iPhone

hardware device.• It has a "touch" friendly user interface.

iOS EVOLUTION

• iPhone OS 1 (2007 - 1)- Multi-touch, visual voicemail, mobile web browsing on Safari and a YouTube app.

• iPhone OS 2 (2008 - 2G)- App Store, Maps with GPS and push email.

• iPhone OS 3 (2009- 3G)- Voice control; multimedia messaging; Spotlight search; a landscape keyboard; and (finally) cut, copy and paste functions.

• iOS 4 (2010- 4)- Wallpapers, multitasking, folders and FaceTime.• iOS 5 (2011- 4S)- Siri, Notification Center, iMessage, Reminders

and Newsstand.• iOS 6 (2012- 5)- Apple’s own Maps app, introducing turn-by-turn

navigation and Passbook.• iOS 7 (2013- 5S)- Control Center, AirDrop, iTunes Radio and

CarPlay.• iOS 8 (2014- 6)- Apple Pay, Health app, QuickType, Family

Sharing, iCloud Drive, third-party keyboard support and (in mid-2015) Apple Music.

• iOS 9 is the ninth version of Apple's mobile operating

system.

• Announced at the company's Worldwide Developers

Conference 2015 on June 8, 2015.

• Released on September 16, 2015.

• Include iPhone 4S onwards devices are Supported.
