ISA-WELD®
Precision and power resistors
Optimized shunts for energy metering market
Basics:
current terminals as multi-functional elements with high fl exibility as part of meter terminals
economical manufacturing
without additional resistance between resistor and copper terminals
space saving with application-optimized construction
tin plated copper terminals on request
Solid state electronic kWh-meters are getting more and more accepted worldwide due to their comparatively small size, no moving parts and higher accuracy while the old technology of electromechanical meters is losing its share in energy metering market with increasing speed. Numerous new requirements of public power suppliers which could not be rea-lized by electromechanical meters up to now or only to a less degree, can now be met excellently by the latest generation of kWh meters. ASIC solutions specially developed for energy metering support the features of modern kWh-meters like remote reading, prepaid (chip-card) meters, data storing or give the possibility to choose the rate.
Standard shunt-resistors for kWh-meterprecision resistors made of the material combination Cu-MANGANIN®-Cu
independent from temperature because of lowest TCR-values
extremely good long term stability, so that the energy meters do not require any recalibration
total resistance almost equivalent to measuring resistance, so power loss is minimized
high mechanical stability due to electron beam welded junction
very high reproducibility of R-value and TCR within one batch
Well matched!Customer-designed shunts made of Cu-MANGANIN®-Cu with additional properties:
Innovative components for pow
er electronics
Optimized shunts for energy metering market
The application of a shunt for measuring the current in a kWh-meter is the most economic solution.
