Language Acquisition Center

The Mission

Increase multilingualism among students and staffs of Irvine Valley College.

Promote, encourage and support the learning of languages for personal, academic and professional purposes.

To achieve our mission:

The Language Acquisition Center:

• Provides professional tutor/advisory services to support the language learners

• Provides high quality learning resources in multiple media in a wide range of languages

Language Center Conference

• Open to students currently enrolled in IVC language courses (Chinese, French, ESL, Japanese, and Spanish)• Open-entry /Open-exit• Pass /No Pass • 0.5 unit

Requirement to earn the 0.5 semester units:

• Competition of total of 24 lab hours by the end of the semester.

• (Please check the date with the Language Center Staff)

• Students may earn up to 2 hours per day per language

• Students may earn a maximum of

6 hours per week per language
