ST. MARY FAMILY NIGHT: HICKORY CRAWDADS BASEBALL
The Knights of Columbus have purchased 30 tickets to the Friday, August
23rd baseball game between the Hickory Crawdads and Greensboro Grasshoppers at LP Frans Stadium in Hickory, 2500 Clement Blvd NW. The game starts at 7:00 PM and there will be Fireworks after the game.
10 of the tickets will be given away to Altar servers in thanks for their service to the Church from the Knights of Columbus. Contact the parish office to get your free ticket!
Parents, family members, and parishioners are also invited to purchase tickets for $6. All attending are expected to supply their own transportation and any youth will need to attend with a responsible adult or guardian. Purchase tickets after Mass. ANNUAL COLLECTION FOR PRIEST’S RETIREMENT & BENEFITS
The annual Priests’ Retirement and Benefits Collection will be taken the weekend of September 14-15. Our parish assessments are $7,635 at St. Mary (3.5% of annual offertory of $218,154) and $1,268 at Christ the King (3.5% of annual offertory of $36,241).
Your contribution to this important collection is a way to show your gratitude to the priests who serve you so faithfully. We will also collect for Priests’ Retirement the weekends of October 5/6, November 2/3, and November 30/December 1, or until we reach our assessed goals.

EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS BUS
The parish is renting a bus for the Euchar istic Congress in Charlotte on September 7. The cost will be $10 per person or a maximum of $30 per family, due at the time of registration. Sign-up in the office! Children who received First Communion this year are invited to wear their First Communion clothes and walk in a special place in the Eucharistic Procession at the Congress.

The first room on the left off the hallway at Christ the King is now designated a “cry room.” Please feel free to use this room if your child needs a time out from Mass. Please don’t leave children unattended or let them use the cry room as a play room.
