I’m a digital trailblazer with over 10 years
of entertainment & new media project
management experience. My main focus
is marketing, promotion & viral contentcreation - I promote big brands on the
internet, invent new business/advertising
models for digital content and always
keep ahead of the curve at the
intersection of music, television & new
media. I also handle special projects for
Disney and NBC/Universal on a case-
by-case basis.
I’ve been managing newmedia projects since I was 17
Before new media was a buzz word, or
a line item on an HR requisition, I
shamelessly promoted local bands on
the internet and built a solid reputation
as a marketing whiz. This landed me a
gig working on a state-wide advertising
campaign for the Illinois Department of
Transportation and a long term new
media position with Minty FreshRecords.
My boss at Minty Fresh told me I had to
choose between New York or L.A. if I
wanted to have a shot at a real career. I
love sunny weather and palm trees, so I
packed two suitcases, bought a one-
way ticket, and flew to Los Angeles to
launch my career. I quickly picked up
high level project management gigs
handling personal appearances for Mick
Fleetwood, digitally promoting James
Brown’s last concert appearance,
launching Sam Sparro's "Black & Gold"
single, and managing digital marketing
for Sony Legacy’s post-humous Miles
Davis releases.
To become more we ll -rounded , I
decided to learn the back-end of the
entertainment industry. I picked up a
long term contract with The Walt Disney
Company’s Business & Legal Affairs
department and spent a few years
working on the execution and paymentof record deals for Hollywood Records,
Lyric Street and Walt Disney Records.
I managed royalty accounts for Jerry
Bruckheimer, Indigo Girls, Queen,
Breaking Benjamin, Hilary Duff, Hannah
Montana, Grace Potter, The Cheetah
Girls, Atreyu, Sparta and all of the A&R
executives like Jon Lind, Matt Harris and
Jay Landers.

I Build BrandsBroke Sam Sparro's "Black & Gold": Before he was a pop
star, Sam Sparro needed a viral marketing campaign for his
self-financed Black & Gold EP to attract major label offers.
Execution: I picked “Black & Gold” as the promotional single,
sent it to internet radio and leveraged the airplay to drive fans
to Sparro's Last.fm, Myspace & Twitter pages. The buzz led to
Sparro signing to Island/Def Jam. They shot a video for “Black
& Gold” that I promoted to zines like Spin & Rollingstone.com.
Results: Sam Sparro became an overnight success: “Black &
Gold” secured rotation on 500 internet stations, 4 million plays
on Last.fm & 16 million YouTube views, named #72 best single
of 2008 by Rolling Stone & nominated for a Grammy Award.
I Manage Big Projects Built CWG Into National Product: A few friends from Disney
& EMI invited me to start an online pop culture magazine and
transform it into a nationally-known product.
Execution: Led development team in building a cross-
platform site, grew editorial team (30 writers/photographers) to
ensure daily content updates. Leveraged viral videos, social
media & strategic content partnerships to increase traffic.
Partnered with iTunes, Rhapsody & Amazon to offer electronic
sell-through of editorial products.
Results: CWG reached 1 million readers in 6 months, iOS app
reached 2 million downloads, CWG named #2 online music
magazine by Yahoo, and in Q3 2009 - Q2 2010, beat Spin and
Rollingstone.com in monthly web traffic.
I Solve Complex ProblemsReduced Disney Royalty Accrual: Disney had a multi-milli
dollar accrual due to incompatible enterprise systems & silo
segregation of duties across unrelated departments. Th
needed an analyst to help reduce the growing back log.
Execution: I reduced the accrual over 3 semi-annu
accounting periods by interpreting & executing compl
recording agreements, coordinating contractual & sales da
across departments & inventing streamlined data processes.
Results: Reduced royalty accrual by $10 million (over 50%

I Command Digital Miles Davis Conquers Social Media: Sony Legacy had re-
issues in the vault & wanted to re-up the brand for digital. They
also wanted buzz for post-humous release Miles From India.
Execution: I developed/executed an in-depth digital marketing
strategy including a YouTube remix contest, launches of official
Myspace, Twitter, Facebook & Last.fm pages. Coinciding with
Sony's release, I leveraged digital partners & e-mail lists to
promote the YouTube contest and drove targeted impressions
to Miles Davis web destinations.
Results:
• Contest/official YouTube acquired 7 million impressions.
• 31 million plays & 1.2 million fans on Last.fm.
• Miles From India reached #6 on Billboard Jazz Chart.
