What is a just-in-time refresher?• Brief (≈ 5 minutes) coached refresher
– You supervise resident’s performance on simulator before they perform on a patient
– Great opportunity for hands-on teaching– Goal = polish skills before clinical performance
1. Set-up simulator• Fill bottle with water up to fill-line
• Insert bottle in pressure bag
• Inflate bag until pop-off valve hits 150mmHg

• Ask learner to show you what they know • Give feedback, answer questions• Complete side 1 of form
3. Supervise clinical LP• Complete side 2 of form
*Place data collection form into POISE box in clinical area*
