Percentage

A percentage is a number over a hundred such as 50% & 100%. This is a percentage sign. %.

The percentage sign is made up with three basic numbers: two zeros & a slanted one. This is a

fraction for a percentage: 50/100. The best way to remember percentages is to remember what

numbers make it up.

Mostly, people use percentages to see how well something is going on or whatever.

Scary Division

Problem one: You have 13 OLG shortbreads to share fairly with your friend TukTuk (the towel). How can

you divide the fairly?

YouTukTuk

YouTukTuk

Solution: 6 for you, and 6 for TukTuk, for the remainder split into half and ½ to

you and ½ for TukTuk.

Toothpick trick

• You start out with 12 toothpicks into 3 boxes, then turn it into to a 5 square shape moving 3 toothpicks only.

Miserable Toads

• A group of toads were planning to set a record and build the biggest amphibian pyramid in history.

How many days?

Problem: Froggie fell into an ten foot

well. He climbs up 3 feet during the day, and slips 2 feet down

during the night.

Well, that wasn’t so scary.

Mixed-Up Problems

The ball is dropped from a 128 foot building. Each time it bounces half

as much high as where it was dropped. How much will the ball bounce on the fourth bounce?

Prime and Composite

Composite numbers are number s that can be made by usinga variety of numbers by multiplying.

Prime is a number that can only be made by multiplying itself and one.

Example: You have two squares with four mini-squares in each. One of them is fully colored in. the other has only one mini-square covered

up. That’s the Mixed number

Customary System

This is a map of the world. The red area

is where the customary system

is used. The gray is the metric system.

Units and Conversions of Length• Inches (in.)• Foot (ft.)- 12 inches• Yard (yd.)- 36 inches, 3 feet• Mile (mi.)- 5,280 feet, 1,760 yards

Example of Conversions

• Feet to inches: 2 feet equals 12 inches.

Units and Conversions of Weight

• Ounces (oz.)• Pound (lb.)- 16 ounces This is an

customary, or, Celsius Thermometer. The red is alcohol

that increases its amount the more

hotter it is.

Stuff

The next scenes show someone doing an algebra puzzle. You solve

the puzzle by figuring out which shape is what number by dividing the number on the corner with the

shape.

I highlighted the column I’m working on.

18 divided by 3 is 6

I highlighted the row I’m working on.

28-6=22÷2=11

I highlighted the row I’m working on.

10-6=4÷2=2!

The End (That puzzle was solved for real!)

Algebra

Algebra is a type of math used to solve math that

doesn’t give the numbers.

The Joon Shifter

There was once a point land where everyone was happy about being a

point… except one point.

I hate being a point!!!

There was once a point.

That turned into a ray.

That turned into a line.

That turned into an angle.

That turned into a triangle.

That turned into a square.

That turned into a parallelogram.

That turned into a polygon

That turned into a rhombus.

That turned into a rectangle.

That turned into a pentagon.

That turned into a hexagon.

That turned into a heptagon.

That turned into a octagon.

That turned into a nonagon.

That turned into a decagon.

That turned into a dodecagon.

That turned into a triskadecagon.

That tuned into a tetradecagon.

That turned into a pentadecagon.

That turned into a hexadecogan.

That turned into a heptadecogan.

That turned into a optadecogan.

That turned into a enneadecagon.

That turned into a icosagon.

That turned into a icosagon. And then he exploded because he had

too many sides and angles.

And he was a point again.

The End

Money Fractions

25 cents = ¼ = 25/10050 cents = ½ = 50/1005 cents = 1/20 = 5/100

1 cent = 1/100100 cents = 1 = 1/1

10 cents = 1/10 = 10/100

Average

How to do Average

Start with 3 numbers like 4, 5, 7

Then add them up.

4 + 5 +7 = 16

16 – 3 = 13So 13 is your average.
