JEE MAIN 2017 COUNSELLING

JEE 2017 Counselling for AIQ (All India Quota) seats are conducted through the following counselling processes mentioned below:JoSAA Counsellin

JoSAA is now the only authority responsible for allocating seats in B.E/B.Tech programs in IITs, ISM Dhanbad, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes) through a centralized counselling process. 

CSAB NEUT Counselling 

This counselling process is conducted by the CSAB Board for admissions to the institutes of the North Eastern States and Union Territories.

CSAB SFTI Counselling 

The admissions to self-financed technical institutes via JEE Main 2017 is conducted by this counselling process.

JoSAA 2017 COUNSELLING

JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) 2017 is responsible for the joint seat allocation in IITs/NITs/IIITs/GFTIs through JEE Main and JEE Advanced. 

The counselling would be based on merit of candidates in the written exam and the options filled by candidates at the time of online option filling.

JoSAA Counselling and Seat Allotment Process will begin only after the announcement of JEE Mains Result and AIR (All India Ranks).

JoSAA 2017 ELIGIBILITY

Candidate is required to secure a rank in JEE Main 2017 Paper 1 for admission to B.E./B.Tech. courses at NITs, IIITs and Other-GFTIs. For admission in IITs, candidates need to clear JEE Advanced 2017 as well.

They must have passed Class XII (or equivalent) examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subject.

Candidates should obtain at least 75% or be in top 20 percentile of their respective boards [for General Category] or 65% [for reserved categories] in each subject for admission to IITs/NITs/IIITs and CFTIs.

Eligibility For B.E. or B.Tech. Courses

Secure a rank in JEE Main 2017 Paper 2 for admission to B.Arch./ B.Planning courses at NITs, IIEST, IIITs and Other – GFTIs. For IITs, candidates should qualify in AAT (Architecture Aptitude Test) conducted by JAB (Joint Apex Board)

Should have Mathematics as one of the subjects in Class XII (or equivalent) examination

Has obtained 50% aggregate marks irrespective of the category, in five subjects including Mathematics.

STEP 1 – ONLINE REGISTRATION

For Online Registration Login by entering your JEE Roll No. and Password.

Click on the given checkbox for Declaration and click on ‘SUBMIT’ button.

STEP 2 – FILL CHOICE OF PROGRAME

After that, click on the ‘Choice Filling’ tab for filling the choices regarding universities.

STEP 3 – FILL CHOICE OF INSTITUTE

Now, choose the type of university as per your preference. You can click on ‘ALL’ to select all types of universities.

Then, move to the ‘Institute Name’ tab to choose the institutes as per your preference.

Choose the course for which you have applied. You may select all the courses by clicking on ‘ALL’ .

After selecting choices, lock the choices by clicking on ‘Lock Choice’ and then click on ‘SAVE & CONTINUE’ button

STEP 4 – FEE PAYMENT

Candidate will have to pay the JoSAA 2017 seat Acceptance Fee for finalizing their seat, at the time of seat Acceptance and which will be adjusted in his/her institution Fee

For the candidate who belongs to JoSAA 2017 seat Acceptance Fee for General Category or Foreign aspirant the fee to be submitted at the time of seat allotment is Rs. 45,000/

Candidates belong to SC, ST, Gen-PwD, OBC – NCL –PwD, SC – PwD or ST – PwD category must pay the Rs. 20,000/- for JoSAA 2017 Seat Acceptance fee

JoSAA 2017 FREEZE, FLOAT AND SLIDE

.OPTION DEFINITION

1. Freeze Students who accept the allotted seats and do not want to participate in further counselling rounds.

2. Float Students accept the allotted seats and also looking for admission to a better preference, they will accept it. Such

aspirants will be considered for further counselling rounds.

3. Slide Candidates accept the allotted seats and also seeking for admission to an academic programme of better

preferences within the same college or institution. Candidates will be considered for further admission

process.
