Hallam Primary School’s learning and teaching programs support and promote the principles and practice of Australian democ-racy, including a commitment to elected government, the rule of law, equal rights for all before the law, freedom of religion,
freedom of speech and association and the values of openness and tolerance. Hallam Primary School has a zero tolerance approach to child abuse.
S tudent Absence
If your child is unable to attend school,
please contact the Administration Office be-
fore 9:30am.
S wimming
Over the past two weeks most of our Years 3
-6 students have been swimming. Many stu-
dents, with no prior experience of swimming, have
now had their first experience in the pool.
Australia is surrounded by wonderful beaches, and
there is also participation in watersports on our
rivers and lakes. Everyone needs to be able to
swim! The school swimming experience is limited; I
recommend that parents/guardians enrol their
child in regular, after school or weekend swimming
lessons to support the continued development of
this important skill.
F athers’ Day Stall
Tomorrow we have the annual Fathers’ Day
Stall. Mrs Fenton and some of our wonderful
volunteers will ensure your child can find a special
gift for Fathers’ Day. Prices range from $1.00 to
$8.00, so please ensure your child has some money
to buy their special person a gift from the stall.
B ook Character Day
A reminder to students and parents that we
will be having our Book Character Day on
Tuesday 4 September. Over the weekend make sure
your costumes and books are ready to go.
M ini Fete
The Mini-Fete is on between 1-3pm on
Friday 14 September. In addition to
being an afternoon of fun, the Mini-Fete is designed
as a Maths activity for students where they get to
shop, use money and learn about ‘getting change’.
At the end of the Mini-Fete, all students are re-
quired to assist with the clean up and return to
their classes until 3:30pm.
E nrolments for 2019
If your child is enrolled for Prep for 2019,
you will receive a mail out regarding the
Prep transition timetable in the last week of term.
Evidence of date of birth in the form of a Birth Cer-
tificate or Passport, and an Immunisation Certificate
issued through Medicare or from the Australian Im-
