Invocation
Highlights From July 11 By Guest Editor Bob Clendenin
Our new Sergeant-at-Arms Cliff made a point to fine former Sergeant Jose as one of his first acts of duty. Bob McD led birthday and anniversary song in spite of his difficulty differentiating between pulpit skills and Rotary skills.
Mark P. announced his plans to visit Ireland with Katharine. Incidentally, Mike C. who has already been to Ireland won the 50/50. Our speaker, Barbara Langdon, explained how social media is essential to marketing a business these days. Her work is to educate small businesses and non-profits in their use of the various online venues and Web tools. Some changes are in the works. Starting in August Board of Directors meeting will be on
the third Tuesday. President Nick is planning a tree planting project and a quarterly social. Our club’s future may see a music festival and a kayak fishing tourney. Beginning in September, the first meeting of the month will be held in the evening. The price for the supper will be the same as we now pay for breakfast. There will also be a cash bar for those with a designated driver.
May those of us assembled here today enjoy the many offerings of Rotary. May we abide by the
rules we have established: those of trust, fellowship and ethics. May we place Service Above Self in our daily endeavors. Amen Sherry Penfield
Rotary Three Week Calendar
Throwback Ponce is created, illustrated and authored by Bob Clendenin.
I have been in Rotary for over twenty-five years and have served as Club President five times. Once in the Rotary Club of Eagan, Minnesota and four times in the Rotary Club of Murdock. I am an RLI Graduate and have completed three Graduate Courses.
I have served in District 6960 positions five times, twice at the District Sergeant-At-Arms, twice as Co-Chair of the Paul Harris Society Committee giving presentations to the Northern District 6960 Clubs concerning the Paul Harris Society and TRF. I am currently Assistant Governor to Bobbi Bird 2017-18. Hallie and I are both Paul Harris Society Members, we are both Major Donors, Level 2, Benefactors and Bequest Society Members, Level 1. During the fourteen years, we owned PI, Inc. we grew to one of the largest private detective agencies in he upper Midwest. In 2001, a friendly competitor purchased our agency and we moved to Florida. I am retired from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Department in Minnesota, over nine years as a criminal investigator. We are currently a licensed private investigative agency, here in Florida, Doing Business As, HeirLink, Inc.

The 4-Way Test
Of the things we think, say or do:
1. Is it the TRUTH? 2. Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
