WELCOME
Good afternoon and welcome to Castle Drive for todays West
Lancashire League Division Two game with Euxton Villa Reserves. The
Club would like to welcome Euxton Villas players, officials and
supporters to Castle Drive.
Kendal go into todays game on the back of a comprehensive 6-0 win
at Furness Rovers. Any midweek away game is always difficult
however Kendal impressed and responded after their 6-3 defeat to
Ladybridge last Saturday.
United played Euxton Villa away on the opening day and ran out 1-0
winners after Sam Hunter scored the only goal of the afternoon.
Euxton have had a difficult start to the season however they will
present a test for the team this afternoon.
After today, Kendal Uniteds next game will be the following Saturday
as they host Furness Cavaliers in the Challenge Cup First Round.
Life in West Lancashire League Division Two has already proven to be
interesting, and despite some setbacks along the way things are
going relatively okay. I hope you like the match programmes new
layout, I am trying different ways to promote Kendal United through
the website, social media, and press.
Before I close a special thanks goes out to Baz Johnson for
sponsoring todays game.
We hope you all enjoy this afternoons game!

FIRST TEAM MATCH REPORT:
KENDAL UNITED RUN RIOT ON AN IMPRESSIVE NIGHT
Furness Rovers 0 V Kendal United 6
Kendal United impressed on Monday Night after a comfortable 6-0 win at
Furness Rovers. Any midweek away game is always difficult however Kendal
put on arguably their best performance so far as they swept aside a spirited
Furness Team.
United opened the scoring on the 11th minute when Lee Mc Neill scored. Once
the goal had gone in Kendal continued to probe before Bailey Kenny scored the
second five mintues before half time.
It was much of the same in the second half, while Matthew Regan scored the
third of the night at 76 minutes while Kenny scored his second of the night
three minutes later.
Kendal overpowered the hosts while Sam Hunter and Jordan Archer Nelson
completed a good night for Simon Hansen and his team.

RESERVE TEAM UPDATE
Kendal United Reserves lost 3-1 to Dent at Castle Drive in this opening
Westmorland Football League Division Two game.
United didn’t play well against an organised Dent Team. Dent went 2-0 up in
the first half, however Kendal got a goal back on the stroke of half time after
David Crierie scored from close range.
However Dent made the game safe late into the second half as the visitors ran
out deserved winners.
Kendal travel to play Greystoke this afternoon, before entertaining Staveley
United on Wednesday Night.*The midweek game kicks off at 6.30pm*

OPPOSITION HISTORY
A Little Piece Of History Euxton F.C - Circa 1983 Renamed as Euxton Villa F.C the following
season. Euxton Villa was formed in the 1907-1908 season and played in the West Lancashire
League until 1910 as far as the records can be found. They then progressed into the Preston
& District League winning many titles along the way. After the war the club became known
as Euxton FC. and they played on many grounds because of the poor conditions of
Greenside playing fields, in Euxton itself. The club has played home games at Croston,
Leyland, Chorley as well as being nomadic for a few seasons. ‘Euxton’ and another local
team ‘Euxton Albion’ played on a ground just off Runshaw Lane , where the shops are now
we’re told. This all changed in 1986 when Euxton managed to purchase their own land in
Runshaw Hall Lane , Euxton. From this land they managed to create three full size pitches, a
junior pitch and small training area’s. In 1988 Euxton amalgamated with Euxton Villa Juniors
to become known as Euxton Villa FC. The club now has some 18 teams at all age groups
playing in various leagues. Former players include David Unsworth (Everton and England ),
Chris Speak (Blackpool), David Bonner ( Cardiff ) and many more semi-professional players.
The senior teams now play in the West Lancashire Leagues but owe a large debt to the
Preston & District League. The clubs highlight was the winning of the Guild Hall Cup in April
2001 when the scoreline read Euxton Villa 2-1 Southport Trinity.
