Homework

All Kindergarten students do receive homework. Homework assignments will consist of reading daily, writing, and math. At times, special projects will be assigned. Most homework assignments will be posted on my blog. http://argueta2014kindergarten.blogspot.com/

DisciplineAll students in our class are very “Bright Bears.” Our goal is to make “bright” choices! Everyone begins their day “Ready to Learn.” Depending on the choices and actions we make throughout the day, we can move up or down on our scale. The scale is as follows: Great Job (Purple) Super Student (Pink)Good Choices (Blue)Ready to Learn (Green)Think About It! (Yellow) Teacher’s Choice!! (Orange)Parent Contact!!! (Red)

Daily Behavior ChartEvery day is a new day in our classroom.

Inside your child’s daily folder will be a communication sheet with a colored bear for where he/she finished at the end of the day. The scale is color coded as seen in the previous slide. Please sign and return each day.

We earn treasure stickers to earn trips to the treasure box. Students must earn 10 stickers to go. Stickers can easily be earned such as being on purple at the end of the day!

All volunteers must complete an application

for a background check. You can fill out the application in class room tonight or the media center. Once you are cleared to volunteer you will receive notification from the office.

All visitors must sign in the office before visiting classrooms.

Lunch Lunch is from 10:45-11:15. Please sign in the

office and wait for us to meet you in the cafeteria.

Please give your child time to adjust to their new routine at school. We are requesting that parents wait until the third full week of school to eat lunch with their child.

SnacksPlease send in a bottle of water with your

child each day with their name on it.Please send in a healthy snack. Fruit and

vegetables are the best!!! You may also send in granola bars, graham crackers and cheese.

Students may drink water. Please do not send in candy, fruit

rollups, pudding or cookies.

Birthdays

You may send in store bought healthy treats on your child’s birthday. Please see your child’s teacher for specific classroom procedures for sending in treats.

If you decide to send in birthday invitations or thank you notes, please send in one for every child in the class.

Transportation

Please send in a note with any changes in transportation.

Children are not allowed to ride another bus home for a play-date.

If your child will be riding the bus, they will need to ride the bus at least once every 10 days or you will need to reapply for bus transportation. This process could take up to 30 days.
