AdvancED SYSTEMACCREDITATION• 2005 – Awarded Seal of Best Financial

Management Practices by the Florida Legislature and Department of Education after completing an intense district-wide audit by the Florida Legislature’s Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability (3rd district in Florida to receive this distinction. Only 8 districts out of 67 awarded the Seal.)

DISTRICTACCREDITATION• July 1, 2005 – School Board approved pursuit of district

accreditation

• July 15, 2005 – Submitted letter to Dr. Mark Elgert to notify AdvancED of this approval

• September 2007 – Completed the Accreditation Review of the District, Awarded District Accreditation.

• 19th District in Florida to obtain District Accreditation

• Among the first 200 districts in the Country to obtain district accreditation

Areas in need of improvement: Continued focus on comprehensive professional development for ALL staff.

Standard 3Teaching & Assessing for Learning

2.5Strengths: RUC2 Ready initiative, resources, expectations, instructional reviews, mentoring and coaching, support for teaching and learning.

Areas in need of improvement: Culturally embedded collaboration, professional development for ALL staff, addressing unique learning needs, advocates for ALL students, feedback and communication, development of model lessons and exemplars to build capacity, implementation of instructional management system to meet RTTT requirements.

3.0Strengths: Continued implementation of innovative programs to meet the needs of all students.

Areas in need of improvement: Reductions in funding continue to create challenges to provide programs to meet the needs of all students.

Standard 5Using Results for Continuous Improvement

2.6Strengths: Teaching and Learning Department and system of continuous improvement, Psychometrician and development of valid and reliable end-of-course exams, data systems to provide real time data for progress monitoring.

Areas in need of improvement: Implementation of new data warehouse, student information system and data dashboard/report system, and implementation of assessment platform to meet RTTT requirements.
