LB Load Batch File~Tfz

DESCRIPTION This command invokes a batch file which you have eithersaved using the SAVE BATCH FILE command or createdyourself with a text editor. It is found on the UTILITIES .menu, and is further discussed in Chapter 24, Utilities. Tocall up a batch file, select the LOAD BATCH FILE com-mand or type LB. You will be prompted for a file name.

The ability to save your drawing with the SAVE BATCHFILE command, edit it, and load it back into a drawinggives you the ability to edit the drawing outside of theGeneric CADD program. Experienced programmersmight want to write their own programs to manipulate thedata base to perform certain tasks not available fromwithin Generic CADD.

COMMAND LINE you want to load, and the second is the filename of theBATCH that you want to execute. You don't need anycommas in between, or any file extensions for the filenames. For example, to load CADD, call up the drawingPLAN, and run the batch file LAYERS, you would type atthe DOS prompt:

f' database as a batch file, which when invoked will recreatethe drawing. This command is found on the UTILITIESmenu, and is discussed in Chapter 24, Utilities. To save SEE ALSOthe drawing as a batch file, select the SAVE BATCH FILE CHAPTER 24command, or type SB. You will be prompted for a filename.

This utility is useful for examining the format for enteringvarious commands as batch file entries, as well as forcreating drawings which draw themselves. It creates a filewith an extension of .TXT, which can be examined with atext editor, edited, and loaded back into a drawing with theLOAD BATCH FILE command.

This command will not save components. To save com-ponents, you must do a COMPONENT DUMP (CD) orCOMPONENT SAVE (CS) command to the drawingbefore you do a "SAVE BATCH:' (See Chapter 10, "Com-ponents.")

Note that most of the sample batch flles shown abovecould have been created with this command, by starting adrawing, setting the grid size and limits, drawing the bor-der, and using the SAVE BATCH FILE command. Theonly command which wouldn't show up in the file savedthrough this command would be SNAP TO GRID, whichis not part of an object defmition.
