GURU NANAK SIKH GURDWARA Vancouver - December 2015

Pillars of a Spiritual Life

• Simran • Different than meditation • Important for Control and Change your Mind towards Guru

• Gurbani • Everything should follow what is in the Scripture • Sri Guru Granth Sahib is meant for all of humanity. • It is written to help us find our spiritual origin

• Jeevan Jach • The right way to live. • We rely on mental strength Simran gives and the guidance of the Scripture to make

sure our behavior is appropriate.

How can children give up their lives without being afraid?

We have to go back to our history.

Guru Nanak had to two sons - did they listen?

His sons did not obey His Word; they turned their backs on Him as Guru.

These evil-hearted ones became rebellious; they carry loads of sin on their backs.

The foundation is Japna. Japna in Gurmat is the first step to meeting Waheguru.

That humble being who meets the True Guru is saved; he cherishes the Naam, the Name of the Lord, in his heart.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਗੁਿਲਸਖ ਪੁਤ੍ਹਹੁ ਹਲਿ ਜਲਪਅਹੁ ਹਲਿ ਲਨਸਤ੍ਾਲਿਆ ॥੨॥ Servant Nanak says: O GurSikhs, O my sons, meditate on the Lord; only the Lord shall save you. ||2||

The people who don’t want to meet Waheguru will never Jap.

Because Ego Prevents us from Japna.

Think about your life.

Chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord of the Universe; don't be lazy.

There is Gurmat, Munmat and Durmat. Know the difference.

The self-willed manmukhs are engrossed in duality and evil-mindedness; within them is the darkness of attachment.

They do not love the sermon of the humble Saints, and they are drowned along with their families. ||5||

His evil-mindedness departs, and the Praises of God take its place.

To chant the True Name with one's mouth is the true ladder.

The foundation of Gurmat is to Jap Namm.

A Saint is a good Gursikh, who care for nothing other than the Lord.

All the Sikhs and Saints are filled with joy, meditating on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||Pause||
