Leicester City Rugby World Cup School Games Event

We took part in the annual Leicester City SSP TAG Rugby Competition on Friday 24th March.

This year was different because each school had to represent a country that is participating

in the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England. Year 5 were given the job of researching Canada,

our country, and creating a flag and a poem based on what they discovered. These items were

then taken to the competition where we took part in an inspirational flag parade followed by

lots of games of TAG Rugby! Our team of 12, Year 5/6, children came 7th on the East side of

the city which was a great result! We had an awesome day and scored some amazing tries!

One member of our team also won an individual award for the ’Spirit of the Games’!

It was very good when we walked

around the pitch with our home

made flag! We were shouting

‘Canada’! – Girl - Year 5.

When we were playing against

other teams, one team started

with a Haka, it was very good!
