LIVING IN THE MOMENT

“The past is history, the future is a mystery,the present is a gift.”

At any given moment our minds can be eitherin the past, present or future. We can be thinking over a memory of something that has happened

(past), planning or thinking about somethingthat’s coming up (future) or experiencing what we

are doing right now (present).Research shows most people spend little timein the present moment. We can help to give

ourselves a break and clear our mind by focusingon the present. For example, if we are worrying about an interview, one way we can control this

is by consciously directing our mind to noticethe present moment, i.e. what we can see or hear

around us. This pauses the worried thoughtsand helps us relax. Try living in the moment a bit

more and notice how it helps.
