LogiCool InRak Data Centre Cooling 10-60kW: Highly efficient and resilient The LogiCool InRak is an efficient in-row cooling solution for high density data centre applications. Positioned next to a rack or within a row of server cabinets, the InRak directs air horizontally to the front of the server racks. The InRak delivers complete confidence, with in-built resilience and excellent efficiencies, lifting the InRak’s EER to 90.3 during part load operation. Providing industry-leading cooling for its footprint, the InRak offers the ultimate in scalable solutions for the modern data centre. It includes a top connection for rooms without a floor void and delivers even greater efficiency when combined with Airedale’s latest technology free-cooling chillers.

LogiCool InRak

Efficient in-row cooling solution for high density data centre applications

•Directs air horizontally to the front of the server racks

•Delivers complete confidence, built-in resilience and excellent efficiencies

•Industry-leading cooling for its footprint

•Ultimate in scalable solutions for modern data centre

Key Technical Data

• 10 – 60 kW nominal cooling capacities (DX or CW)

• EER up to 90.3 (CW, n+1)

• Designed and optimised for R410A

• Integration with Airedale free-cooling chiller (option)

Resilience

• n+1 fan configuration for increased efficiency and uptime

• Aisle pressure control managing pressure between the hot and cold aisle

• Automatic transfer switch (option) plus controller backup

• Hot swappable fans allowing fan assembly to be replaced while unit is running

Operation and energy saving

• Compact design for increased cooling per m2

• Dew point control

• Air filtration

• EMC compliance

• 66% energy saving p.a. with EC fan*

• EC inverter compressor for precise control and high part load efficiency

*Compared with a conventional CRAC unit

Key Feature:Improved efficiency through aisle containment

Key Feature:Improved efficiency through aisle containment

• Can be integrated into a traditional hot or cold aisle system

• In aisle containment, the InRak’s performance is significantly increased

• Risk of cold air mixing with rejected hot air greatly decreased

• Reduces the need for very low supply temperatures, vastly improving efficiency

Key Feature: EC inverter driven compressors

Variable capacity control

•InRak features two scroll compressors in one circuit

• Fixed speed compressor working

• EC latest technology 20-120 rps inverter compressor

•Fully modulated cooling performance from 17 – 100%

•Variable speed control allows InRak to to exactly match cooling demand

•Inverter compressor has a 10% equivalent starting current

•Designed for minimal sound output and optimal efficiency

Key feature: EC centrifugal fans

70% more efficient than AC fan at part load

•Energy costs can be significantly reduced when cooling equipment operates at part load

•Engineered with a very low air flow resistance

•Latest EC fan technology which delivers greatly enhanced fan efficiency, particularly at part load, lifting EER to 90.3 (n+1)

Key feature: EC centrifugal fans

Key option: n+1 fan configuration

Increased efficiency and uptime

•Enhanced by smart control logic and EC fan technology, InRak has built-in redundancy and excellent part load efficiencies

•Gives an EER increase from 58.0(n) to 90.3(n+1)

•Designed so that all four fans run at 75% during normal operation. If one fan fails, the other three speed up to 100% to provide the same amount of cooling and maintain temperature control

•Hot swappable fan management

Key option: n+1 fan configuration

Key option: integration with a free-cooling chiller

Key option: integration with a free-cooling chiller

Reducing whole life costs

•InRak can be matched with an Airedale free-cooling chiller

•Airedale free-cooling chillers operate with as little as 1°C differential between ambient and return fluid temperatures

•A large proportion of the year can be spent in free-cooling mode

•In the 24/7 environment of a data centre, a free-cooling chiller will use very little mechanical cooling

Using heat to increase free-cooling

• High water temperature capabilities within the whole range of Airedale free-cooling chillers raises the free-cooling threshold

• When linked with InRak in a 24/7 data centre with typical hot aisle containment, over 95% of the year can be spent with free-cooling active – giving you exceptional return on investment

One kilowatt of power saved every hour 24/7, represents a saving of £876* a year, equivalent to over 4

tonnes of CO2* £0.10/kWh
