Improving Student, Faculty, Improving Student, Faculty, and Staff Technology Skillsand Staff Technology Skills

In June 2000, Longwood contracted with Smartforce CBT to provide computer training for the Longwood community

Students, faculty, and staff have access to over 200 training modules that may be done in a self-paced fashion.

Modules are housed on the Smartforce server and are completed over the Internet.

The class of 2004 was required to complete pre-tests by November 23, 2000 in the following areas:

-IE 5.0

-MS Word Basic and Intermediate

-MS Excel Basic

-MS PowerPoint Basic

The students have until the end of their second year to complete all training modules and post-tests.

The results will be posted on their transcripts as non-credit bearing courses with a grade of P or F.
